Maybe a Ryno trade is in the works. I don't know what else that could mean

Honestly I wouldn't mind Boozer on a vet min, he seems like a great locker room guy

He's going to go to the clippers, doesn't fit in this system anyways. Clippers lose jordan but gain pierce, lance Stephenson, possibly boozer. They haven't fallen off yet.

Well, we wouldn't be paying him anything more than the vet min, I would imagine. We won't get hardcapped just to get Boozer. So he'd be our 5th big.
I think its more about locker room presence, depth etc.

ESPN sources say that the Celtics have agreed to send Gerald Wallace to the Warriors for David Lee
Posted on 7/7/15 at 1:57 pm to HickfawJim1
WTF are the Warriors doing there? Does Lee have an extra few years as compared to Wallace? Only thing I can think of without looking.
But at least Lee is useful whereas Wallace is completely worthless.

With David Lee, Warriors at almost $100M in salaries. Without Lee and stretching Wallace, closer to $86M. Saves about $30-34M in taxes.

I'm guessing they found no dumpees. Stretching $10 million (Wallace) is a $3.3 million cap hit for 3 years. Stretching $15.5 (Lee) is a $5.1 million salary cap hit for 3 years.

Saves them 5 million and they're both off the books after this year. That has to be the only incentive right?

Clippers just inked Wes Johnson for the minimum
Posted on 7/7/15 at 2:38 pm to BallHawk
Thats a good deal for them. He's not some great player but for the minimum that works.

GSW has to extend Barnes after this season
this trade is a home run for the warriors
plus Boston gets a good player

The work of GSW management on the money front alone is nothing short of a clinic. Curry contract a steal, other contracts, now DLee trade.
estimate is they just saved 20MM on their tax bill

That'll buy a lot of Gold Out t-shirts at Oracle.

Yes, if only every team could have their star player be so injury riddled that he signs at a discount and then miraculously is healed. We tried to do that with Gordon, but neither the injury riddled discount nor the miraculously healed part happened.
