I wonder if Phoenix would be interested in Ntilikina. Put a defensive minded guard next to Booker to cover some of his deficiencies on that end. Keep Booker as primary ball handler.

You mean the opposite of just about every player drafted.
For every player ever drafted, NBA teams have only seen them play against much, much inferior competition than they will see in the NBA.
There is a bigger difference between the ACC and the NBA than the ACC and the high end of AAU.
Garland's 3 biggest attributes (handle, stroke, and shot creation) are evident and can be judged in workouts. The kid has skills. It is not a coincidence that there is so much smoke surrounding his name.

A minny trade for Covington and 11 is my go to trade if Hayes is still available at 11
I think what we need to do is draft Garland at 4 before we make any trade decisions. You have yourself a list of teams who have expressed interest and what they would give up and what pick they have in the 1st rd. Then you let the draft play out looking at who's available at each pick an interested team is selecting at. If you see a player you want still sitting there as an interested team is on the clock, you call that team up and do the previously talked about deal.
Specifically looking around 8-10 for Atlanta and 11 for Minny. If the guy they want is still there, you trade 4 for 8 and 10 or 4 for 11, Covington + picks. If you don't like either scenario, maybe you have the Indiana/Turner deal ready for 18. But whatever scenario it is you still have Garland ready to do it and you haven't made the trade prior to knowing who will be there when you pick.
So I would be really surprised if we trade this pick in advance of the draft. Actually it would be really stupid

i'm not crazy about garland on the pels, but i agree...he is the guy most likely to start a bidding war. gather all your offers for #4, get a guy on each phone for each offer, have the lakers take garland, and let the draft come up to you
the trade should without question come after he is picked

Some asshat (@BallThen aka Elite Bored aka Crewz) on twitter just said this
“If Griffin stays at 4 and selects a guy, you will know that he really loves a guy....because I know for a FACT that he has one really nice offer on the table.”
His hint was “Circle of Life”.

Is Garland’s stock falling? The odds say it is.

So... the offer is Muphasa, Scar, and Simba for the pick?

How do we know what “teams” are doing? I’m pretty sure the Hawks are trying to trade up for Reddish or Hunter. And the teams that need a Pg like the Suns and Bulls are not mentioned.
A lot of this Garland talk is fabricated. Not that he isn’t in the running for the pick, as he has always been. But the hype is interesting.
Sure the hype has gotten loud but this is far from fabricated.
Russillo has been saying for a long time now that he thinks of this draft as a 4 man draft, not 3. And that 4th is Garland. He even predicted months ago by draft night everyone will look at it this way. Ryen while he is not a scout, he is pretty well connected with lots of front office and nba scouts.

My guess is that we are getting a former player or we are sending back a player to their last team.

I think Circle of Life refers to Griffin trading for Kevin Love when he was GM of the Cavs and doing so again now.

Nah, he said it was a really nice offer.
