If this team can stay healthy and get some time on task with everyone bought in, this team will win some games. Z has got to keep chunking up the 3 ball because if he becomes a legit threat out there then good luck guarding him. Yves Missi is about to have an all NBA defensive team year and bust out. It would be smart to try to lock him up to a contract at some sort of a discount while we can because his future is bright. Who knows if I believe all that but let’s try to be positive in game 1.

The organization once again fails to cash in on an overpriced asset (Trey) and he’s going to lose all value when he sucks arse this year.

Sucks for us

That’s a good question that I was asking myself. He should have been, that’s what he’s being paid for.

Until they are taught to play defense, it’s still the same old Pels.

You’re confusing yet another season opening moral victory with actual progress.

This loss was completely indistinguishable from every other pelicans late game meltdown of the last 5 years.

This thread keeps getting posted at early points of the last few seasons because we have naive posters still holding on hope thinking something is going to click, despite trotting out roughly the same personnel.

Honestly just trying to be positive. I know in about 25 games we will probably have injury issues and scheme to player problems. Just hoping this can maybe at least be a little better. Hard to go down from where we were.

Murphy needs to play better and not be lazy. I’m impressed with Derik Queen though, he was moving his feet and doing well. Much better than he was in preseason.

It is the same old Pels bc it’s the same exact fricking roster!!!

Unfortunately, this team will have to PROVE to this fan base that it’s different. And it ain’t gonna happen in 1 game.

I saw a team that played liked Jekyll & Hyde throughout the game, and couldn’t close out a game…very consistent with the “same old Pels”.

I’m hoping to be proven wrong bc there are pieces to be excited about, but my expectations are tempered.

I saw some real D at times. They played hard. But geez, they have to get some wins.

we hired Mosely for his defensive coaching and we let Pascal pick and roll us to death for a whole arse quarter.

They are projected at 28.5 wins

Same old shite, just another season!

I know it is only one game, but that was the most disappointing thing. Again, zero defense with a defensive minded coach!
