Everyone keeps saying this but based on Kawhi wanting his own brand to grow, I don't see any way that happens under the Lebron shadow in LA.

I can very much believe that New Balance would prefer him to sign with the Lakers. But all three fanbases have "insiders" telling them to be confident.

I said similar on the MSB thread, but I'm getting a whole Recruiting Board vibe with this whole thing.
Those who've followed recruits over there should know exactly what I mean. Guy is a strong LSU lean or past verbal commit (Clippers or Raptors). Bama (Lakers) starts gaining steam as the favorite leading up to signing day. Various sources start coming out that LSU is back in it, but the dude signs with Bama like expected all along.
Exact same shite, and it really sounds like Uncle Dennis has the same level of influence/power that a recruit's domineering mother or father would have. Kawhi is also as flaky as a high school 5* recruit.

Markieff Morris signed with Detroit.
No terms announced but it is assumed to be the veteran minimum.

detroit is stupid, they could have signed up for 7.5 million and had a tradable asset.

Pau Gasol back to Lakers on vet minimum seems to make a lot of sense
Good god, if Kawhi turns them down, their team is going to be weak as hell.
This decision is so important.

Stephen A on his radio show saying it’s “Lakers Lakers Lakers” base’s off what he’s hearing. Him and Magic are very close. Also him saying this cpuldnhurt their chances maybe

Some Raptors guy on RealGM is stalking Masai at a hotel in Toronto. He posted some videos and pic to his twitter but then made it private, so that only the Raps fans who had already followed him could see it. But then someone put the videos on Streamable:
If true he shouldnt do that.

wasn't kawhi's camp the one that said toronto would get last look?

I’m not buying and sources coming from the Lakers, especially from Magic lol

Is Bullock the only Laker from last year’s team to get signed so far? Not even ex-Lakers like Zubac have gotten signed.

Muscala got signed by the Thunder

The best thing about Kawhi passing on the Lakers is that the vet minimum guys will now demand more money.
I can't wait to see a roster like this around the Lakers shitshow.
Rajon Rondo
Kenneth Faried
KCP
Quinn Cook
Carmelo Anthony
Jamal Crawford

So, two guys obtained at midseason.
So the full gaggle of assholes like Rondo, Stephenson, etc are all available.

This list is so perfect. ESPN will 110% be talking about these guys like they are LEGIT DUDES.

Again, I personally think Kawhi is doing this the right way. And that means that no decision has been made yet.
I can well believe that Clippers and Lakers executives both left their pitch meetings confident in their pitches and pleased to see that Kawhi responded positively. But that doesn't mean anything.
I think all three options have their plusses:
Lakers - L.A. is home, outstanding chance to win another title, the best marketing and endorsement opportunities
Clippers - L.A. is home, but with fewer paparazzi following him everywhere, great basketball situation with outstanding front office and staff, will be the guy on a very good team that has a shot to win it all.
Raptors - Chance to go back-to-back, beloved as hero not only by Toronto but by all of Canada, chance to cement a real legacy.
I think a lot also depends on his contract plans. Kawhi could sign a 1+1 or 2+1, play two years, and then be eligible for the 10-year + max contract. So, he could do that in Toronto and then go home to L.A. in two years for even more money. He could also do the same with the Lakers if he's unsure about how that situation is going to work out. I've got to think that, if he goes to the Clippers, he's going to take the 4-year contract and probably plan on eventually retiring as a Clipper.

Well I guess it is time to bet...LA Lakers are the favorites, so $500 says it's the Clippers or Toronto, if it's the Lakers I pay you....
What you say ..?

Same. He may end up a Laker, but to think Magic had any inside info before hand, I believe, is just dumb.
