This board needs Kawhi to choose quickly lol

Adrian Wojnarowski on ESPN2:
Teams have simply been told this, “If information on your presentation gets out, you’re really imperiling your chance to sign Kawhi Leonard.” And so you understand why teams are keeping this so private. And his camp has not allowed that information to really get out.
I was told to not to expect a decision until at least later today, possibly tomorrow on July 4th.

So the fact that we know everything that Magic and Kawhi talked about, I guess we can assume not the Lakers.

It would be the icing on the cake if the Lakers being their typical dysfunctional selves and leaking info like a sieve is what costs them their shot at adding Kawhi.

I think it says a lot that Kawhi went back to Toronto for the meeting...most FAs would just stay in LA and have everyone come to them.
Devil's Advocate they just went through a very magical emotional season. Breaking up face to face would be the classy way to handle things. Maybe he always intended to choose between Lakers or Clippers and kept the last meeting in Toronto cause his mind was already made up concerning them.
But also maybe not lol. My guess is he signs with the Lakers still.

It wouldn't be classy at all to prevent them from making other free-agent moves at the beginning of free agency, if he mind was already made up.
That's why I was dumbfounded at the false Chris Broussard report (I should've known better than to believe anything he says) that said that he dismissed the Clippers with a phone call instead of meeting with them.
No, Kawhi is doing this process the right way.

I think all 3 teams made that gamble and he's worth the risk imo

Looking at the Kawhi situation and everything around it logically I'd rank the teams ranked in order of his signing as:
1. Clippers
2. Raptors
3. Lakers
This of course means he'll prob sign with the Lakers.

Dear god they're following this dude with choppers on his way to the Raptors meeting. What a fiesta.

I don’t even think they really could make any moves. They’re over the cap with or without kawhi

From the supposed Lakers insider at AEG (marketing firm closely associated with the Lakers
quote:
Recap from NB meeting this AM. Kawhi did not attend, just his close confidants.
NB execs indicated their strong preference was for Kawhi to sign with the Lakers
They attempted to present some marketing related proposals around this but Kawhis camp was not interested and shut down discussion pretty quickly. Said they were already aware of all projected financials from previous discussions
Uncle Dennis was frustrated at New Balances low revenue figures from championship related promotion. Pointed out how recently he has received far more exposure in the press via free agency despite his introverted nature. Wants worldwide growth on the level of Steph Curry, James Harden, etc.
Uncle Dennis insisted that if he joins the Lakers, Kawhi not be overtly tied to any big 3 brand but instead focus on building his individual brand
Dennis indicated that he couldn’t inform them about a decision until Kawhi spoke directly to the Raptors, out of respect for Masai Ujiri and his Raptors teammates. Claimed no final decision has been made. When pressed further, he mentioned they would know within a day or so
Sentiment among NB execs after conclusion of the meeting is that the decision seems to be leaning towards the Lakers, though there was a repeated emphasis on keeping things private

I definitely that Kawhi can make more money as a Laker than as a Clipper. IMO, this is the only reason to consider the Lakers.
Posted on 7/3/19 at 1:26 pm to GOP_Tiger
Toronto following him OJ Simpson style probably cost them.
Posted on 7/3/19 at 1:26 pm to GOP_Tiger
If I’m the Lakers, I would be losing my shite at this kind of stuff because it is exactly what Kawhi does NOT want leaked.

Although if you value Privacy and secrecy LA is probably not that.
