I think a 33 years old Lillard will still be infinitely better than Ingram at 26.
Ingram is soft as hell.
Ingram is soft as hell.

I’d go full tank if I’m Portland. Take bled and Adams and a bunch of picks.
i'd gladly do that
keep the trio of Zion/Ingram/Lillard
we'd lose Zo probably...but if we pay the tax we can do it
right as we have to pay Zion, Lillard's contract can be dealt and we start over and then can dangle BI to reload

if you completely gut the team and sell all our assets, we have to be a title contender. losing kira and BI? i don't see it
You don’t think this is a competing team with NAW/Hayes/Zo/Zion/Hart/Dame?
Really?

We are a well executed offseason away for making an Atlanta Hawks like jump.
Unloading the war chest for a star is a cop out move for Grif.
I firmly believe our best path to success is adding to BI and Zion.
BI could be 2b or 3a star and thrive

I would happily give up BI, Kira, and 3-4 fake firsts for Dame.

I said MIA, GS, PHO, and PHI. realistically, you can scratch phoenix and GS off right now.
MIN and CLE? what in the hell?
Lillard is an upgrade over Paul, who ultimately is not on their timeline. But will cost around what Paul will. So I wouldn’t count them out at all. And again, this is about who will pick up the phone and make meaningful offers that can drive up Lillards price. I fully expect PHO to pick up that phone.
Not sure if you noticed but Minnesota has a developing KAT problem, who has gotten disgruntled more recently. Rosas very much comes from and believes in the Morey philosophy of talent Trump’s everything. If he can put KAT and Lillard together he will. Guarantee he is on that line with multiple picks, Anthony Edwards, andand DRuss.
Cleveland has already discussed whether Sexton is in their long-term future and an offer involving him and multiple firsts is a potential path to up the market.
What I get from you is what I hear every time fans play this game, they start engaging in magical thinking and only look at the situation from a rose colored perspective and can’t wrap their brain around how this shite actually goes.
Lillard is going to cost a lot, you can argue whether it is worth paying that, but if he goes on the market this offseason POR will get one of the best hauls for a superstar in some time. Bank on it.

Why not trade BI and Zo for Dame? Throw in 3-4 firsts if they take Bledsoe/Adams and we get Covington.

Another instance of I would love for that to be the case, but I just don’t see it.

I actually think Zo would be really good next to someone like Dame.
Posted on 6/27/21 at 9:17 pm to SlowFlowPro
I’ll take it too. Even if his stats drop and he’s a 20 ppg scorer and Ingram gets to 25, I think Lillard will be better.
Lillard might be the best closer in the game and Ingram is the worst.

AD is worth a lot more than Dame
Harden is worth a lot more than Dame
Dame getting more than either would be crazy
Exactly, so AD going into his best years is now worth less than Dame going into his twilight years? Dame is the exact same age as Kemba. You never know when a player goes south fast.

I can’t imagine being this cocky & actually not understanding how the Nba trade market works
I’d love you to explain how you think the market for Lillard will go?
Please, proceed Mr. Earl.
Start with what happens to prices when supply is very limited and demand is extremely high and those demanding have large asset reserves?

AD is not getting better. He’s declining

you think they'll dangle Ayton? otherwise they don't have anywhere close to a package worth offering if a guy like BI is on the table. they're not moving the needle much in that scenario.

MIN is more likely to sell KAT than buy Lillard. Lillard does nothing for them (in terms of title contention) and they'd have to give up Edwards (or KAT) to get him

CLE sucks. again, Lillard does nothing for them. they may make the playoffs but they get bounced quickly
so CLE is going to deal Garland and their next 5, 1sts for 1 years of Lillard? why?

then the only logical move is to pass

Knicks, Miami, Boston, Chicago, Golden State, Mil, PHO, PHI, CLE, Toronto, Min, and NOLA
Knicks - No one to center their package around
Miami - No one to center the trade around. They aren’t sending Bam and that doesn’t make sense for Portland.
Boston - Could center a package around Brown or Tatum
Chicago - No one to center the trade around. They are not going to send Lavine for Dame.
Golden State - No one to center the trade around. They are not going to send Curry or Thompson (questionable health).
Mil - I guess they could send Middleton, but they have nothing else.
Pho - They aren’t going to send Booker and Aston doesn’t fit.
Phil - I guess they could send Simmons. Not really sure how that works.
Cle - No one to center a package around.
Toronto - They could center it around Siakem; however, their other talent are already guards. OG would be a super nice piece, but I am unsure if that fits a potential Dame trade as he is not good enough to be a centerpiece.
Min - Townes is the only player that would make sense as a centerpiece. I doubt it.
NOLA - Can center the trade around BI and other assets.
So the list of competition for a trade I think is Phil, Boston, Toronto, and NOLA.
The Pels are lucky since they own nice potential future picks from the Bucks and Lakers.

You trade Lillard and that team is one of the worst in the league. Ingram isn’t moving the needle and has a huge salary.
That is just not true. Portland was the 6th seed and would still make the playoffs if you swap Ingram/Lillard. Ingram wouldn't even be their highest paid player. They still have McCollum, who is a borderline all star, when healthy. Pair them together, with Covington, Powell and Nurkic. That is a solid team. It is a great fit for Ingram, who makes over 10M less than Lillard. They would be competitive and balanced. I don't even know if we become better than them..
