I think GP2 compares close to Dunn. Better defender and rebounder, not as good at shooting.
Probably the most athletic guy in the draft. If we don't take Dunn, I absolutely want him in the second round.

I think the team likes Yogi Ferrell better than GP2 if they go PG in round 2.

He wasn't invited to the combine. Is our interest at 39-40 or more undrafted free agent?

I wouldn't mind giving Yogi a shot, but he doesn't look like he'll get drafted according to mocks.

I want to keep the two seconds and draft GP2 and Onuaku or whatever his name is.
Hield
GP2
onuaku
My ideal draft assuming no trades.
If we find a way to get into the late 1st, I'd like to take a flyer on LeVert.

How legitimately tall is Ferrell? He wasn't invited to the combine, so we don't get a real measurement. He doesn't look an inch over 5'10" to me.

The New Orleans Pelicans are also said to be willing to move the No. 6 pick in the draft. The Pels have been all over looking at players and there is a sense that New Orleans could be where Buddy Hield lands if the Pels can’t find a trade for a better player. The Pelicans are also the dark-horse team to grab Skal Labissiere, but may not keep him if they do; there is a sense that New Orleans could be the team that drafts the guy that falls to them and trades them later in the draft for other players and veterans.

I think this is just dot connecting rather than inside info/legit rumors. Who is trading in/up for Skal at 6? He's a project at best. However, it does sound like there might be much more draft day movement than normal.

quote:

In all, it’s believed that the 3, 6, 12, 15, 16, 19, 23, 24 and 26 picks could all be moved – with at least half of those picks being more than likely moved at some point during the draft.

And that's kind of what you'd expect with 5 teams owning almost half the 1st round picks.

Typical basketballinsiders piece. They basically throw as much crap at the wall to see what sticks. Later they can say they called it. I would be pissed if we trade the #6 for an average vet. It is time to build with youth and cheaper contracts. I am sick of the way Dell has thrown together this team with his patchwork approach to acquiring marginal veterans that do not fit together.

It's not trash. They have been open to trading it since the lottery. And wouldn't you want your GM to at least be open to any possibility? Or do you want him to just say, "Nope, we aren't trading it no matter what is offered."

What if they got Avery Bradley and a few later picks for example? You still get guys on rookie deals AND a guy who can help a ton right now that is just 25. What if you got Middleton?

Let's just see how it plays out in a week. Grade this decision on this decision. It shouldn't be tied into past decisions IMO.

Didn't say trading the pick would be trash (as long as for young talent with high ceiling potential). It is the "throw it all against the wall" mentality that BBI always has. Every year, they list at least a dozen picks that could be traded. In reality all the picks "could be moved" but they add nothing to support their claims. If you read Kyler's stuff, he changes predictions daily.

I get that, but it also has to be said that dozens of possibilities do exist for every team and obviously many of those won't happen

If Noel, went 5 for instance, we don't do the Holiday trade. But would you have liked to have known that it was discussed if Noel was there? My experience is that 99 percent of fans would

This is what fans have done to themselves. They care about rumors and what's next more than what actually is. You write an article that analyzes an actual game and it gets 1/100th the views of a rumors piece

I have no sympathy. Journalism is what it is now because they are simply giving people the fast food garbage they crave

Selling it hard, that way someone at 3-5 take him.

Or someone will trade to 3-5 spot if they really like him.

Some small movements across the top 30. International players represented by Misko Raznatovic had a workout in New York this past week. Timothe Luwawu shot the lights out, with some scouts believing that it helped to solidify his range in the first round. He moves up my board a bit. Another impressive performer was Ivica Zubac, with one scout noting just the sheer vastness of his size to pair with his ability. "The guy is just huge," the scout said. "He's a legit 7-footer, long as hell. You have to see it in person to really get a feel for just how big he is to pair with the high skill level. It's just different. Sometimes you see players and you just think they look unlike the rest of the pack. Zubac is that player." There are some questions about injuries with Zubac, given that he's fought through some lower body stuff over the course of the last two years. But he pushes into the top 15. It's not often that you hear teams speak in such glowing terms.

This is from Sam Vecenie of CBS. A lot more in the article but I thought the international players were interesting. If we got 16/23 from Boston, you might have to draft one of the Euro centers at 16 to get them. On the plus side the knee injury may be giving Valentine a Jared Sullengeresque slide into the 20s according to Chad Ford. How much will the board melt if we trade Heild/Murray to Boston and draft a center at 16?

I think we would melt, Stephen A would go completely off on Dell Demps, Benson will fire Demps, and the NBA would hate us for making Celtics closer to a title contender. Those 2 players will be studs.
