I don't see it, but if so, he will be moved. If we could trade Evans and #40 for something in the 20 range, I would be all for it.

I know the opinions on Him here are low but he was the second best player on a playoff team. I'm sure many teams would want him.

So, by that logic, all freshman have a higher ceiling than any junior/senior?

Be logical, if he's a good player yes. But not a trash freshman compared to a good senior. There room for development is shorter due to their age. Its the same reason people say Reke can improve his ball IQ. He is too set in his way. It's the same for Buddy his game is his game not you can't really ask him to change it. Also when people talk about Buddy's shooting Murray was a better shooter last year.

I think you are just taking too general an approach. So, if Hield would have come out after his junior year, you likely would have said he had a low ceiling based on your comments. Yet, he significantly improved his game as a senior and has a tremendous work ethic. I would not say he is a complete product yet. I think he still has room to grow and time to improve his game.

Okafor is Al Jefferson

Okafor at Duke, sure. Not the same as NBA Okafor. NBA played a lot of face up ball from the junction, using his agility to take slower guys off the dribble and using his array of moves to get to the hole. His back to the basket game is good, obviously. His jumper is a work in progress but he has a nice stroke, and the foundation is there

The guy is young; his passing, rebounding, defense etc can all improve.

6'11 275

Al Jefferson never did this. Okafor is not some statue. I really don't see the knock on having two young, near 7 footers who can score.

* I know Okafor is a pipedream, I just think people didn't watch him in the NBA and are using back to the basket Duke Okafor as their reference. The guy has a budding game

I see the Cousins comp a little. Okafor is certainly more polished on offense as a rookie than Cousins was. Two areas where Cousins was way ahead though: defensive potential and passing ability.

The question for the Pels would be how much does adding another offense only player actually help them?

And, certainly, one answer can be "they just need talent." That's fair. I wouldn't make that move, but I wouldn't have a problem if the team decided to package 6 for Okafor. If they don't like the options at 6, Okafor is better than Monroe or Knight or whatever other mid tier young vet Demps might go for.

Compare Murray's Freshman year to Hield's freshman

Let compare both of their season's to Michael Jordan's junior final year of college. What would that prove? That they both have higher ceilings than MJ?

Murray played on a team that had nba talent all over it. The other did not. Does that never play a role in this stupid debate?

Bottom line: we need immediate contributors, and cheap.

Bender would be around 6th on my list of preference, but then again, out of the top 6 prospects he's who I know least about.

I would be surprised if many teams valued him as much as you do. He needs a pretty specific fit. Couple that with his knee issues, and he does not hold much value.

Thats not what you said. You said if he took anyone other than 1 specific guy, then frick everything.

that's not what i said either assfrick.

i said if he PASSED on Hield. If Buddy is gone then i'm fine with Murray/Dunn/Bender or whoever falls. i'm not saying take Hield over Simmons if Simmons falls to 6.

I'd trade #6 for peak al Jefferson in an eyeblink
if okafor is anywhere near Jefferson in a year or two he's easily our 2nd best player and that's a stretch for anyone there at 6

The Philadelphia 76ers have shopped Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor to "at least 15 teams" as they look to get the best deal. With Joel Embiid expected to finally be healthy and their anticipated pick of Ben Simmons, the 76ers are attempting to balance out their roster. Discussions between the 76ers and Atlanta Hawks on a Noel for Jeff Teague trade surfaced on Thursday. Philadelphia is also including Nik Stauskas and Robert Covington in the deal.

I disagree. I don't think we can wait TOO much longer, but we have some time to please AD. If we start off the season something like 20-35 and finish 17-10, I don't think AD will be pushing for a trade in the offseason. I'm not necessarily a fan of Bender, but if he is the best long-term option, then go for it.

I have him at 6th in order of preference, right where we are picking. So I wouldn't be upset about it.

He has no leverage, he'll be starting the first year of a 5 year deal. The 2019-20 season is the earliest he'd be traded.
