No.
You do not move a 30mil player to the bench.
(Especially when you just traded for the guy who actually compliments him in the starting lineup)
CJ starts.
You do not just bench the 30mil player for someone who is better or surpasses him. He gets traded.
Start CJ or trade CJ. No inbewteen.

Ingram won’t be here anyway .
CJ will probably start it’ll just be DM, CJ , herb , Zion and whatever center we end up with .
I think cj efficiency will go up a lot at SG without the primary ball handling role . He was an elite 3 pt shooter let’s not forget . I reckon cj flourishes from this trade

It's not that hard, we saw it with JV how a player can start and be benched at the same time. And unless it's extreme, it's not too noticeable.

There are arguments to be made for CJ starting, but how much he makes should not be one of them.

There is no scenario in which Willie moves Herb to the bench. None.
Do you guys actually follow the Pels, or do you just play 2K?

I don’t agree but I do agree he will end up starting and having Murray will help him tremendously. Now we have to find a legit center that pairs as well with Z as Murray does with CJ.
And let’s be honest, we’re going to need Trey’s bench scoring.

Its one thing that Trey can’t start for BI but now we’re benching Trey for CJ. Again, I think CJ can be very important for this team but Trey is the future and probably should start. I just don’t understand why people think CJ won’t accept a bench role?

The salary shouldn't make a difference in the lineups.
Murray/Herb/BI doesn't work great in terms of spacing unless all three shoot near their peak percentages.
Murray/CJ/BI works, but we'd be bringing our (arguably) 2nd best player off of the bench. That might make sense if your 2nd best player is a stud on offense, but not a 3&D player like Herb. You want him defending the opponent's best wing whenever possible, so bringing him off the bench limits that opportunity..
I really think that we need to trade BI to balance the team out. Or get nuts and package him or CJ with Herb for a stud wing or 5. Murray/Herb/Trey is a really good/balanced starting backcourt, and we have two talented guys getting in the way of that. I don't trust Willie to figure this all out, so simplify it for him.

Our bench should be stronger this year. We have shooting options up the wazoo with Trey, Hawkins, Reeves, Ryan off the bench with Jose as well.

We pulled the trigger on Nance/ Dyson pretty fast knowing it leaves us in a whole at PF and backup SF.
I have a good feeling about this Keion Brooks Jr signing. Think he may end up helping at PF. He also played at Kentucky for (3) years before transferring to Washington. 21pts/ 7reb/ .7stl/ .8blk Added 3pt to his game last year. 38% on 4.3 attempts
Just wondering if what they saw in him made it easier to trade both Dyson/ Nance and be ok with JRE as a temporary #2/#3. Also could be reading into that too much although the timing of it all was interesting.

Lol no. That dude won’t even make the team.

I hope they pair him with Herb for a long, skilled backcourt and move CJ to his more natural role as a 32-year-old sixth man off the bench, anchoring the second unit. But we'll see. Murray's production last year was basically equal to Ingram's. It was even higher when Trae went out and he ran the team. This is a good get and if you pair him with Herb/Brandon/Zion and just a competent center, you've got a really potent starting squad.
Agree on all points.
Murray and Herb seem like a fantastic back court. Need a center and another good defensive wing off the bench and team is pretty good.

Maybe not.
Jose did. Naji did. JRE just made the roster from a 2 way contract.
Its now our weakest position pending a BI trade.
Just food for thought.

Yeah maybe but they didn’t trade Nance because they signed some undrafted rookie to their summer league squad. Come on man.

I still think that the Sixers are the best spot for BI if they don’t land George.
Maybe BI for Paul Reed and 3 1sts, then route 1 of those over to Utah for Kessler?
That gives you 2 bigs, which we need, and a couple extra assets.

The move to make now is BI to LAC for PG.
That would be my dream offseason, well, send CJ to the Magic for Isaac and then it’s a dream offseason.
Murray/Herb/Trey/PG/Zion lineup would be legit.

Sorry you said it made it easier. Signing an undrafted guy to your summer league squad has no effect on trading a rotation player on your team.

The question would be if PG wants to come here. The issue is that it doesn't solve our issue (Center) and will cost us more assets. Just not the smartest move.
I'd rather trade BI + assets for KAT if we plan to make that type of move. It would just make more sense.
