The team is leaning more and more towards the idea that they have 13 months to sell Anthony. Not 4.

I don't think they trade him this summer barring some major catastrophe or them just being absolutely blown out of the water by a deal. They don't seem to think AD will demand a trade. He just won't sign his extension this summer, but won't demand a trade. Then, they try to be great next year, hopefully KD leaves and they compete for a title. He can then sign in summer of 2020.

That's the hope/dream right now. Might blow up in their face, but I see the logic

I like it, except I would let Wash keep Green and send out Frazier instead of Miller

I mean that all seems contingent on them getting a guy like Beal though right? I can't imagine them taking that wait and see approach while standing pat with this roster or making a move for a lesser guy like Bazemore.

If so, they must be pretty confident they're going to get Beal.

New York and Sacramento discussing an Enes Kanter-Zach Randolph trade of expiring contracts, but nothing close yet, league sources tell ESPN. Kings would want to send out more expirings in a deal. Kanter is out of rotation and wants chance to play. A third team could be helpful.

kanter would be very interesting in the kings rotation

Yeah that's the issue.
Does AD care that they will need to offload two of his friends in Randle and Miller?

If AD only cares about winning like he says, then no he shouldn't care that we're sending out two of his buddies to net one of the best SGs in the league.

AD is pretty obviously closest to Tim Frazier on this team with I'd guess Jrue being a semi distant second.

lol. wish they had thought this way about 6 years ago.

not dealing him after he passes on the extension, even without a trade demand, is sort of crazy. i get why they wouldnt want to do it (he's Anthony freaking Davis). but if he demurs on extending, that just sets a pallor over everything for 19/20 season.

this is interesting...pels "net rating swing" when a player on on/off the floor, this year

puts the roster issues in pretty stark relief

wouldn't like that for them. he's going to slow them down.

i'd call Orlando and see what's available. Aaron Gordon would be a tremendous get for what they are doing. are the Magic still sold on him w/ Vucevic balling out much of this season and Bamba+Isaac waiting in the wings?

What expirings would kings want to send? They only really have Cauley Stein and Koufas

yeah. biggest disappointment for me before all the injuries was that Randle wasn't enough to lift the bench units to merely bad. a herculean task, no doubt, but the bar is just not a catastrophe

You’re looking at this wrong. Washington doesn’t have to trade Beal. They “deserve” 2 1sts because that’s the price that will make them give up their most valuable trade asset today.

The question to be asking is why are the Pels allegedly considering taking on Parsons and going into the tax to put a 2nd 1st in the deal instead of using their own future 1st? Is there some mandate from the top? Maybe constructing such an unpalatable deal is to show Loomis that giving up 2 1sts isn’t the worst thing Demps could do.

Also, Frank and a 2nd to take on Parsons terrible contract? I’m sorry but you don’t give up value to take on bad contracts. That plus the tax implications pawel calculated says to me this doesn’t pass the sniff test. This is too stupid of a trade to troll us with so you should tell your source to stop messing with you. Again, the only reason to actually discuss this is if it’s an intentionally stupid trade designed to loosen limits from above. Or maybe it's about working Washington. "We really tried, but my boss won't let me trade Niko and 2 1sts. If you want the 2 1sts it has to be Randle."

They don't "deserve" shite if we're taking Parsons. They deserve to send us at least 2 seconds if not a first for that horrible contract.
This trade makes 0 sense.

i doubt he'd start...but he's a 20/10 machine if you give him decent second unit minutes. for example, who guards him with the 2's when they play the pels?

What you don't seem to get is THEY (Washington) aren't making us take Parsons. That's a choice the Pels are choosing to make with a 3rd team in this scenario.

Would you have an objection to the deal if it was just Randle/Moore/Johnson/2 1sts for Beal? The deal could be as simple as that. If there is any truth to this rumor then the Pels are seeking to complicate the deal for some reason.

Link not loading for some. Trade was:

Wash: Moore, Wes, D. Bacon, Diallo, Pels 2019 1st, Char 2019 1st, future Charlotte 2nd

Char: Randle, Miller, Solo, Clark, fake Wash 2nd (to touch)

Pels: Batum, Beal, J Green

Is this even possible realistically? If so, SIGN ME UP.

depends on how you feel about moore as a roster asset and also the 2020 draft

it appears the 3rd team is to keep the pels from coughing up the 2nd 1st round pick...to do that requires taking on somebody else's contract garbage

Lemme help you.. not gonna happen, Chandler Parsons has been injured and refused a rehab assignment. You’d literally trade away your entire second team, you’re losing frank and Moore who both have upside, and you’re losing your first. This is an awful scenario, I understand the appeal of Bradley Beal, but Parsons is an absolute joke. No need to trade for someone who’s probably going to be released, be better off to trade for Justin Holiday and Bradley Beal.

Every mention I've seen of Beal from actual reporters is they want 2 players and 2 picks, the Pels are interested and some reports characterize them as aggressive, which to me says the only team in the ball park of the asking price. The last 2 offseasons the Pels have made big trades happen by being willing to go farther than the rest of the market.

When Boogie was on the trade block it sounds like Orlando and Los Angeles could have traded for him but weren't willing to give up the requested assets, unlike the Pels. Last year the Pels turned Asik into Mirotic because nobody else wanted to give up a 1st for anything. I don't see why we have any reason to doubt Demps would be willing to beat the market again for Beal. The only question is how best to maximize the return on what you're giving up.

Dell is making us take Parsons, either way. In that scenario it makes literally 0 sense to send out two firsts for Beal and Parsons. I look at it like us sending out a first for Hill and Asik. Both are not NBA players and were paying for them? Memphis needs to send a first out for that dumb contact, not us. And yes I'd be super skeptical about send out 2 firsts. We never have cheap talent and this will compound that issue and someone will end up hurt next season so well trot out a line up of Frazier, Beal, shite wing player, Oakafor, and AD. Be at .500 or below by the ASB and we're back to square one with no depth or picks. I don't trust Dell, Gentry, or the front office to overcome a trade like this. Reminds me when Seattle traded Unger and a 1st for Jimmy Graham and they were never the same since.
