Stuff is already happening behind the scenes with Boogie. He is already showing his discontent and they are WINNING.

You guys will eventually hear about all this stuff, and at first you will write it off because you are infatuated with his talent. You will point to the handful of guys who matured eventually like ZBo and say that Cousins can do that.

Hope. Optimism. The silent killers. But eventually, you will all see and realize what I do today --"People tell you who they are, you just have to listen."

This will not end well. Maybe the Pels get really lucky and have tremendous foresight and move him this summer to a team like the Lakers offering a bounty. More likely, they try to break this wild Bronco and he just doesn't take to it and it wears on the organization.

Hate me now, but bookmark this post because it will be your truth in a few years when you finally are willing to put aside optimism and see reality.

OK, whatever you want to believe. If you know anyone around the organization, just ask them two things:

1. What happened between Boogie and Frazier last night?
2. Was one of AD's comments last night directed at Boogie specifically?

You will see. But again, kill the messenger because you don't like the message. Smart.

why don't you stop acting important and just tell us?

if you don't name a name and burn your source what does it matter if you tell us what happened with Frazier and Cousins?

Why are all the Pels writers douchebags or idiots?

Nah, I gave you guys enough. Now, let's see if you can get from point X to Z. I got you from A to X... it shouldn't be too hard. I mean you guys do live right there and supposedly know as much if not more than me. Let's see if you guys can actually add anything of value to this board rather than just relying on me and then showing nothing but disrespect for the only guy bringing you info and high level facts and opinions.

Good luck!

that's just going to be very hard when you start to think about playoff crunch time matchups. basically everyone outside of LAC and Memphis will play a wing at the 4. is having Davis guard Ryan Anderson 27 feet from the rim really the way to go for the Pels? conversely, what team wouldn't want to play 4 on 4 w/ Davis out of the picture?

It could become even more difficult in a few years if Diallo lives up to his potential. Is Cousins going to become a $30 million version of Monroe/Kanter? As long as he keeps AD in town and feasts on 2nd units then paying a cornerstone to be a role player will be worth every penny, but it is hard to envision the Twin Towers working optimally without Cousins becoming more disciplined and fit.

A terrible front office gets worn down by a disgruntled star player? That's never happened before. What a bold prediction. Let me give you a gold star. They must be paying you the big bucks to make such bold predictions and post them on an anonymous online forum. Good thing that expensive journalism degree is paying off, right?

It really is crazy. David Fisher is probably worst than McNamera tbh. Dude is a self-righteous prick

anyone that thinks this is crazy has not been paying attention to the career of Cousins. go read this Arnovitz piece on his time in Sacramento. or listen to the Lowe Post he did about the article.

now, that doesn't mean he is doomed to fail in NO either. but there are clear hurdles with his mindset/attitude and it's not obvious they can be overcome

You seem smart. Why are you on here???

Correct. He could become an outlier and turn it around. Like ZBo. But that is not the norm. Not only in the NBA, but in life. People basically stay who they are. And he is already wearing on guys in his own locker room. And they have won 4 of 5!

Just get out now. Things could get better, but they likely will get worse. He is showing you who he is. Again, find out what happened last night. Then, view it as an objective observer, not a fan who wants to hope for the best. You will reach the same conclusion I have.

that's the big question. i don't know if Cousins would be happy being a 6th man or putting up lesser numbers. and to be fair, he is obviously much, much, much more talented than either Monroe or Kanter.

how do you convince him to put up 18/13/5 on better FG%s and play better defense? the dude is used to dominating the ball when he plays (never had a USG% lower than 27 in his career)

Correct. And he was pissed last night, and they WON. He doesn't care about WE. He is a ME first guy on the court. Off the court, great guy who does a lot for his community. But he has his way on the court and if you think that changes, you are betting on the long shot. Not the most likely outcome.

so i don't think that's wrong...but i don't think they have any other option than to ride or die with Cousins. unless Davis says he needs to go

i was a fan of what they had been doing before the trade- small ball, Davis at the 5. seemed like they had an identity, it was successful (relatively speaking), and they were set up to strengthen that identity this summer.

but i understand why they pulled the trigger on Cousins- a great talent. a great price for the talent. a GM perhaps feeling some heat to win. and Davis not wanting to play the 5

Magic wants Boogie

I would play hard to get and then swing a Boogie/Asik for Ingram/Lance/Mozgov trade if its available

I think AD just needs a 20 mpg center who can take some of the pounding, but should always be the 5 to finish games.

Frazier played one of his better games of the year.

Tim Frazier on #Pelicans progress recently: "We're really starting to pick it up. Right now, we're starting to figure out what we can do."

Anthony Davis on having multiple #Pelicans scoring threats: "It makes it easy for me, DeMarcus and Jrue to have a lot of room to operate."

Anthony Davis on #Pelicans with 33 fast-break points: "We're getting the ball down the floor quickly and getting some easy looks."

Exactly. Those are the things you guys see and have access to and therefore get all hopeful and optimistic.

Again, dig a little bit behind the scenes and learn the true story, not just the PC comments they are trained to put out for the simpletons.

I like the idea of getting Mozgov...Sure, it clogs us up on future cap a little, but not so badly where we can make fringe improvements with role players

That move, I think, still allows us to remain over the cap and get a couple of shooters to fill out the roster (Justin Holiday or Patty Mills).

I love Nance has a back up 4 that can play the 5. He's not much of a scorer, but man the kid can hustle. Good defender too.

Still would try to move Pondexter, Ajinca, and Frazier for Jeremy Lin or Ricky Rubio

Rubio or Lin/Mills
Holiday/Moore/Crawford
Hill/Ingram/vet min shooter
Davis/Cunningham/Nance
Mozgov/Diallo

I didn't see the altercation, but I did listen to AD's comments. He said something to the effect that "everyone is doing what they have to do to win". I think that is a little pointed at Boogie because there was a moment last night where he made a great play on a layup and got fouled. It wasn't called, so instead of getting back and playing he stopped and was arguing. Rush ends up nailing a 3 on the other side because it was 5 on 4. I think AD values hustle which is why he loves Crawford, so seeing Boogie constantly out of plays is being pointed out.

We kill the messenger because we don't like the messenger's attitude towards us.

I'll take a stab at X -> Z. Cousins was being a whiny bitch cause he didn't have a good game/didn't get the touches he wanted. Frazier is a little tired of hearing it, has the balls to stand up to Cousins, and knows he's got the backing of the most important player on the team. Calls Cousins out for being a dick after a big team win. Cousins gets in his face cause he isn't used to pushback. They separate the two. Everyone's a little on edge that they're dealing with this shite after a good win, as we're a young team who isn't used to a) winning b) big personalities.
