Keep the highest of the Pels, Lakers and Bucks picks in any given year then dump the rest and throw in the tons of 2nd round picks that are basically worthless

You keep BI to show that you're serious about winning. You still have a full slate of draft picks afterwards, so it's not like you made the trade and are stuck with that team because you have nothing else left.
You also have a bunch of 2nds, and a 3.8 million trade exception to add another role player.
That team could be absolutely loaded.

Whatever it is. I don’t want to be the Celtics or the Heats on not giving up their potential young player for a star player like Damian Lillard.

Good thing is you don't have to, you can beat any other trade offer and still build a monster team around those 3.
If they insist on Ingram, then sure you put him in and keep NAW Hayes and 2 1sts, but they would do a full tear down and rebuild, so Kira Naw and Hayes would have the most value to them.

I hope they go the OKC route and just trade everyone.
If Nurkic and CJ gets traded, that would help us to not offer a lot of assets also.

I am not necessarily against trading for Dame, but I do not think we are in a crisis mode.
The things that killed us were the others ended up being complete bust (Redick, Bledsoe, and Melli) with our young guys being just a little too far away. I also think Hart is a really good role player, but he is not a really good role player at the position the teams needs. This along with just a condensed off season not helping a new and young team gel led to falling short. I think I would take one more stab at bringing in the right complementary role players before trading away the young player depth. That could be the difference from becoming like San Antonio of the past couple decades or a short lived experiment.

That's easily beaten by 15 teams with any sort of good young player.
Not really. OKC if they are willing, but who else has that kind of draft capital? OKC isn’t in the market for Dame.

Who else can beat a bad contract, a neutral contract, a young guy that hasn't proven anything, and 4 draft picks?
Alot of teams. Pretty much every team that has all their future picks can make the same offer.

If you are rebuilding, you eat contracts to make the numbers work. Bledsoe is an expiring that can be flipped. The goal is to add a young player and draft capital and it does that.
So list who can pull off a trade that gives them the ability to build around a young player, tons of draft capital, and contracts that can make it work.
Edit: and you give them all the swaps and picks. That is a lot of ammo.

Knicks with a package around Barret
Miami with package around Bam
Celtics with package around Brown
6ers with package around Simmons
Warriors with package around Wiseman
Dallas, Toronto could also put together good deals.
The type of deal you're talking about throwing out there is not good at all, currently there's no indication that any of those picks would ever be lottery picks, so they don't have as much value as perceived on the board.

I think if you are trying to keep Ingram, you have to offer up at least 4 firsts(‘21, ‘23, Lakers ‘25, Milwaukee ‘27) with at least 2 swaps in between, along with some seconds. You would also have to give up probably 2 of Kira, NAW, Hayes. Obviously we would have to add Bledsoe for salary(which would be a negative for this year only), and potentially do something with Adams if you are trying to re-sign either Lonzo or Hart.
That’s about as good of a return as they will get, unless a team stupidly offers them their top talent(which is doubtful, because why would they trade for Dame if they won’t win).
Teams that could take a chance on him that have better players than we do could possibly be....
- Philly(they could swap Ben Simmons, along with young players and draft picks)
- Boston(they could send Kemba and Brown, along with picks)
- Clippers(they could swap Paul George and more future picks)
There are probably other teams I’m missing, but aside from these teams taking the risk that Dame will take them to championship level.....I think we could potentially beat all of those offers, and maybe even keep our big 3.

To add fuel to the fire, the Blazers and Stotts just agreed to part ways per Woj...
Lowe has Ingram + picks in his list of fake Dame trades

They are going to “consult” with Dame on the next hire to try and salvage the situation.

With what picks? They are rebuilding.

Lol @ people saying they wouldn't give up BI to land Dame

Everyone of those teams except Miami has picks available to trade.

But not at the volume and potential worth as we do. Having a proven commodity in the NBA is worth its weight in gold, but having as many bites at the apple as we can offer significantly improves their chances to hit.

But, it's not going to happen this offseason.
Portland sacrificed their coach to appease Lillard. He can't ask out now for this year. Maybe next year, if it doesn't work, but they gave Dame input on the head coach, and there's no way he'll leave now.
So, we can really end this thread now.

They will fire the coach, trade CJ and Covington,
Portland overpaid for Covington.
they paid two #1s.
no one else is paying two #1s for a good but not great former high 2nd round pick.
I love Covingtons game.
inside and out.
not 2 #1s.
