What do you guys think about this? I like Larry but what Christian said wasn’t wrong in any way. He’s not choosing sides he’s just reporting. Not sure why Larry tweeted that response.

I’m not a Christian Clark fan but in this situation I don’t think he said anything that everyone didn’t already know or wasn’t untrue. To specifically call him out seems kind of childish by Larry.

I'd have to read Christian's original article to decide whether he deserves criticism here. I chose not to read it simply based on his track record on negative reporting on the Pels and I chose not to read negativity that day.
I think the main point here is that the locker room obviously has Clark tabbed as a person they don't trust and I don't blame them after all the stuff he's put out about Griff and Zion.

Won't be popular but Christian is correct, Larry is not.

Though I get that it's Larry's job to protect his teammates, so no big deal there.

But Christians article was valid, and it's Larry's own team leaking out stories on how Zion "doesn't listen" to the team begging him to get into shape. Christian is a reporter, he's going to report that when multiple folks from the Pels org are telling him that.

Complete bitch move from Larry.

1) Christian was right.

2) it’s his job.

This is some petty BS. I thought Larry was smarter than this. Christian is a reporter...it's his job to print what he hears. It's a thankless job ... Does Larry think Christian works for the Pelicans?

I think Christian does a good job. Will G. Is also a damn good reporter. I want them to tell us what is going on. This team is weird. They are completely unpredictable. I am glad we have guys like Christian and Will.

Do you think that Larry's primary goal is to please fans or to encourage Zion? I think the latter.

It's fine for the media and the team to essentially work a bad cop/good cop routine with Zion.

Larry’s ire should be directed the at SAS’s of the world, not Christian.

I’m guessing the team sincerely dislikes Christian Clark because he’s the only one who consistently has the balls to report anything perceived as negative about the team.

Christian is a bitch, but reality is that Zion is the problem.

Larry's doing what he's supposed to, publicly defend his teammate. Issue is that behind closed doors they need to push him to be better.

We're 15-11, so things aren't going bad. But if his conditioning & his ability to be elite was apparent --- we could very well be 18-8. If we as a team didn't play so poorly in the 4th quarter, we'd be 20-6.

They are SO close to being great. Lets just say instead of going 5-0; you just went 2-3. 17-8. You're talking SECOND in the West.

vs houston, lost by 3. outscored 34-22 in the 4th quarter. Had a solid game but I remember him getting beat often that Q defensively.

@ Utah, lost by 2. Outscored 26-24 in the 4th quarter. Once again, another solid game offensively but multiple times defensively just got burnt.

@ Chicago, lost by 6. outscored 36-35 in the 4th quarter. This was a huge game where I gave up on his ability to play 'defense'.

Other things that just suck about the effort of this team sometimes (games without Z):
vs Minnesota, lost by 1. Outscored 36-25 in the 4th quarter.

@Utah, lost by 5. Outscored 37-23 in the 4th quarter.

Just on a side note I find it funny that Larry is basically paid by this team to defend Zion, tweet and make up memes. Because injured or not his play has been absolutely atrocious this year. Frankly, him out of the lineup has really helped Willie rely more on JV and he has thrived.

Who knew Christian Clark would be the one to motivate Zion before Griff, Willie or any teammates could

Christian hate piece motivates Zion - great for the team

Larry defends Zion - great for the team

Yeah that’s been my stance for years of hearing that he wanted to go to NY. I can only imagine a large market media with Zion in NY or LA where they would really be asking the tough questions and be very critical after years of “issues”.

I think for the most part the local media and fans have been more than understanding. Everything isn’t Zion’s fault either and maybe things could have been handled better early on…. But I’m not privy to any inside information. At the end of the day I just want the Pels to be successful and for Zion to be a large part of that success.

Not really, any team would take Zion. Maybe not for the price we want but I bet 29 teams call if we put him on the block

My point is the media would be ripping his head off if he was in NY or any other major market. Dude has one guy not sucking his tit in Nola and his teammates and fans wanna cry about it. Meanwhile he’s still fat and decides to play defense every 8 games

I think hes saying hes lucky hes not in a media market like new york or LA where the media would honestly destroy him.

I mean 29 teams would call if you put any all star on the block regardless how you value them but that doesn’t really mean anything. Hes a good player but everyone will have a different value on him due to his issues (injuries, conditiioning, immaturity, etc). And at the end of the day especially if your a star its what your value is that matters- not if teams want you.

Soft as baby shite by Larry to do this. People call for real journalism these days but when Christian Clark gives them real journalism they cry because it’s not what they wanted to hear.

Clark said that Zion has ignored the team’s warnings of him being out of shape. Which absolutely lines up because he is visibly fat as frick.

Larry was supposed to be a leader in the locker room. If he’s just going to coddle Zion rather than have the hard necessary conversations that zion needs then Larry is part of the problem and needs to go

You only hate Clark because he’s not constantly pumping sunshine up your arse. This team has been more disappointing than positive since we drafted Zion and Clark has been one of the only beat writers with the balls to actually write about why that is
