Hmm... Who even are the top 5 centers right now?

Jokic and Embiid are 1a and 1b.

IF Toni wasn't such a pussy and was a fulltime C, he'd be number 3.

Then you have arguments for a whole bunch of guys like Bam, Sabonis, Gobert/Towns, and then projecting Wemby in there too to fill out that top 5.

Allen, Claxton, Sengun, Chet, Porzingus, Turner, Val are all in that next tier imo.

They’ve been talking for a while and it’s always been Huerter and Barnes.

This would be melt-worthy.

I've always wanted sabonis on this team. But I don't see anyway we pull that off.

Sabonis is their largest star, it won't be him IMHO.

Has to be Murray. He's THE ideal 3&D wing.

Agreed that it won't be sabonis.

Supposedly they won't trade Murray. I could see a 3 team deal like I've been saying.

Pels need to sign Omer yurtseven to a min deal. Utah just cut him.

Yeah, I don't even get the picks package.

Sacramento will be decent for awhile imo.

Here is the report in case anyone was wondering. Comes from a Kings beat reporter working for the local Fox affiliate.

That isn't a great trade imo.

If we negotiating with the Kings, mandatory to get Devin Carter, period.

Yeah you’re not getting an elite center without BI AND multiple picks

I’d probably be as silly as to give them BI, 4 1sts and a blowjob from my mom for sabonis.

I’m just saying, I don’t care if it takes all of our firsts and BI to get one, if an elite center is available, now is the time. If not now then wtf are we going to do with them? Just keep waiting it out and draft a few more Jaxson Hayes type’s?

Any trade with Sacramento would be Barnes, Huerter and Carter coming to Pels with BI and maybe Jose going back to Kings.

The only haggling is over draft picks and swaps. I would personally want 2 picks and 3 swaps.

If we give up Ingram for that poo poo platter and add Jose I will be upset. There is absolutely NO reason to even think about that deal before PG decides where he is going. After what we were able to pull with Murray, I refuse to believe that this is a legitimate option at this point.

poo poo platter

Two guys that shoot the 3 at 38% on a high volume along with 3 draft picks and 3 swaps is a poo poo platter now? To be clear, neither Barnes nor Huerter is a negative asset, both would easily fetch a first round pick in a trade, so we would essentially be getting back more than twice as much as we gave up for Murray.

The problem a lot of people keep circling back to is that we still don’t have a starting center even if we are loaded everywhere else.

Hard to get excited about more bench pieces when we are missing a starter.

Sacramento has had Barnes available for at least the last year and a half. Heurter basically lost his spot last season. That trade makes us worse next year. You don’t make the Murray trade to turn Ingram into Sacramento’s spare parts and far out first rounders with no center on the roster.

The thing those people need to remember is making that move does not mean that’s the last move you can ever make.

Like I’ve been trying to say for weeks, you make a move that sets you up for the move. You make the BI to Sacramento trade, then flip some of those assets for your center. You’re not pigeonholed into just making that trade and that’s it. You have to start at step 1 to get to step 5, you can’t just start at step 5.

Everyone also has to remember, these trades especially under Griff ALWAYS become multi team deals, but you usually only hear about one team involved before a 4 or 5 team trade is actually done.

Right. It makes absolutely zero sense for Griff to trade away BI for parts and then start looking for a way to use those parts to get a center.

There's just no way that we send him out without getting a starting center back in return. None. So, if we're talking to SAC, that definitely means that a third team would be involved.

Best case scenario is PG resign with LAC.
So we can have a bidding war for BI

How does dumping BI for some role players help us get a center later? A dollar is always more valuable than four quarters.
