That makes much more sense to me than McGee, but they can't afford him. Unless they told Anderson he was going to be the 3rd big. I just don't see them locking in a long term C solution now.

I could see an offer to Kwame or even Kaman for $6-7 per to be the backup C banger for a year or 2

Not surprised. GV is better PG at this point, AND younger and cheaper.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Davis start out on the bench. He needs to get accustomed to the NBA.

Speaking of cap room, Mark Deeks of Sulia.com is claiming that we renounced Kaman, Landry, and Belli today.

Huh. We're gearing up for SOMETHING.

By renouncing those players how much more cap room can we get? I thought it was already included in the current figure of around 9 million

I'm pretty sure that if we renounced everyone we were at $4 million below the cap and we just traded Jack for $5.4 million so we should be around $9 - $10 million under the cap.

Yeah, I'm so sad

At least someone gets it. Jack is a pretty good backup PG, because he can shoot it. But a score first PG with very limited athleticism, size or burst should never be considered your starting PG if you want to be a contender. People on here are thinking WAY too highly of Jack. And I like the guy. He's just not that good as a starting PG.

Sorry, Dell. Trading Jack for rights to some foreign player is a big mistake. Jack is a solid PG, and they could have gotten more.

The knowledgeable posters of HR strike again:

amazed at how some hornets fans defend Demps to no end. If he traded A. Davis and Rivers for futurer 2nd round picks some will still back him by saying he we got cap releif! AMAZING.......

It's not like we thought he'd be here long term. We're just sad to see him go as he was a fan favorite, veteran on a young team, and a solid PG.

You honestly think he did it for shits and giggles? He has something planned with that extra $5m. Just wait and see.

I love when people say, "We could have gotten more".

How the frick do you know? Been manning the phones?

Maybe we didn't want any players in return for Jack. We wanted cap space/salary dump.

Certainly his footspeed is the biggest question mark I've had. But what I saw last season was that his lack of footspeed is more straight ahead running. He seemed to defend ok in the halfcourt imo. I think his size helps in that regard. I'm already on record saying I like GV's game.
