I would rather have Murray with Fears. Ja is not someone I want on this team.
He has all the talent but is a headcase

So idiotic. Why even have Fears then? If they traded for Ja I won’t watch another game. I’m fine with Murray starting one last year before leaving and Fears takes over after next season as the starting PG in his age 21 season. The best thing we can do is make fringe moves until at least the trade deadline next year and do our best to send out the Jordan Poole contract. Cut Looney and find a true big man center for those minutes you have to have one on a cheap deal and see how they play for 1/2 a season next year. Start Murray, Trey, Herb, Zion and Missi with the bench being Fears, hopefully not Poole, Bey, Queen and Karlo. There is no doubt a lack of talent on the team its just fitting them together right and then getting them to buy in on truly playing defense which turns into offense. Will it happen? Doubtful. This is the Pelicans, after all……

I feel like Ja’s best role would be as an 11th man on a contending team. Someone that can come in and score and be the centerpiece of a second rotation. As a starter, he just seems like he doesn’t really fit into a team role or carry a team to a championship. Kinda like a James Harden or Trae Young.

Does Ja get arrested in NOLA? I guess it’s not worse of an atmosphere than Memphis. If we have to give up Murray and Poole, count me in. Who gives a frick at this point?

So basically a salary dump swap and we get an extra year of ja. Not the worst trade even though I dislike ja and his fit.
Best case maybe you rehab him and get decent return. More likely you’re just insane shape a year from now as we are with Poole. Overpaid idiot on bad expiring

Yup, absolute worst case you have an extra year of a Poole level player if you do this deal.
I would actually like it, only due to keeping DJM who can play alongside Ja and Fears.

Just explain to me how is getting Ja helping the growth of Fears (assuming we do view him as a potential franchise guard)?!? Also, how many more games will we win with/if Zion and Ja play together? I doubt we become a top 4 team in the West with these two “leading” the way.

Funny how Ja and Zion on the same team probably doesn’t make the playoffs. The #1 and #2 pick of that draft .

If all it took was Poole and Hawkins, I don't have an issue with it. But I do not buy it since I fully believe Memphis can get a 1st round pick for him at the very minimum. Even if it a low 1st.
I don't believe for a second that Morant's value is so low that it's a salary dump. Memphis is rebuilding and has no reason to dump him for nothing.

I wouldn't be so sure: Trae Young was in the middle of a 5/215mil deal and got traded for CJ McCollum & Corey Kispert.
He can contribute to wins, which they don't want.
Ja has 2 years and 87mil left, its a similar situation.

That's two different scenarios though. Atlanta wasn't a rebuilding team, was against the cap, and was creating flexibility to go big game hunting and the trade was done in season. Memphis is trying to acquire picks and is just starting their rebuild. They have a ton of cap space to sit and wait for the right deal. Those two situations are wildly different.

Sidery has become basically a Fletcher Mackel with his fantasy trades.

I don’t think it would actually, just that there’s alot of smoke around this happening or at least being discussed.
I would rather trade Herb and Hawk for Myles Turner, then trade Trey for a shitload of picks and great bench player(s), and start Fears, DJ, Zion, Queen, Turner

I hate Ja and it's hard to say no to that deal
If it doesn't work we have another huge expiring next year.
We have to keep our salary level too

Never take what Sidery says as anything with substance. He just says whatever for engagement
