It’s just not the type of thing you expect to work out for us. But hey, if Murray has burned bridges, and you have Fears to play when Ja misses games, and Herb to protect him on defense, maybe.

I’m definitely to the point of, whatever, just make it fun.

That would be the most stupid idea to let dumb (Zion) and dumber (Ja) room Bourbon St. together.

Im here for it. Bring him in, give him all the guns and let him go wild.

It may be wonderful or it may be a disaster, but it will absolutely be entertaining.

Yea Ja in New Orleans wouldn’t be good. These New Orleans gangsters would be the end of him. He couldn’t stay out of trouble in Memphis, he couldn’t handle the Big Easy

The hold up was Memphis wanted a pick, Pels wouldn’t give it

I'd do that deal. Its basically a swap of Murray for Morant (although i like KCP as a bench piece too). I am sure that Fears and Morant can play some minutes together. But we'd always have one on the floor. It's buying low on a potential all-pro level guy. If it doesn't work out we walk into next summer with both Zion and Morant as expiring contracts. If it hits, we are the talk of the league. It's a gamble a team like us should take every once in awhile..

I would do it, but not with a pick attached. At this stage Poole is a better player than KCP is. I would rather do Poole/Looney or Hawk for Morant, then Herb and Hawk or Looney for Turner.

I just feel like DJ can return to his normal self and play alongside Fears and Ja, I would keep him.

Isn't that who the Grizzlies want?

My holdup outside of Ja would legit get himself killed here would be that Murray can actually alongside Fears. Ja puts Fears on the bench, which long term, isn't good for us. Same reason I don't want Fox.

But yea I agree here. Think there are ways to make it fun without damaging our already bleak future even more.

This is where I’m at. I prefer to run with Murray and see how he works with Fears for a few months before making a decision whether to move him in February. I think his value could be higher then to a team who’s in the playoff hunt and/or needs a replacement for an injured player.

I don’t want any part of Morant infecting Fears with his nonsense.

Ja and Zion have history playing together in AAU. Reunite them and see what happens.

Best case they unlock the potential to be all-pro's that both of them have. Worst case we suck arse again.

Don't really see how the risk outweighs the reward.

Yeah, I think I prefer Murray over Morant on this team. Murray has more defensive value and like you said, can be on the court with Fears at times.

100% agreed. I think most people are caught up in the name Ja Morant. We already have a “potential all star” that is always injured and makes stupid decisions. Do we really need two?

If Ja gets murdered does he come off the cap?

Pels have been past opening round of playoffs twice. Ja is short and a below average defender. He is due about $86M over the next two seasons. If you trade for him, you are basically forced to give him new contract when it’s time. The team that drafted him is trying to get rid of him for a reason. They had no real offers last season.

Pels already have a Zion issue.

That’s not true at all. You take him super low for one year and hope to trade him at some point for value when Fears is ready.

And if he gets unlucky and gets signifcantly injured? He's already injury prone as it is.

Then you lose nothing more than what you risk anyway. The trade would likely be Murray for Ja.

That's an assumption that a rebuilding Memphis team doesn't require a young player nor a pick. I'm willing to bet it's the latter.
