But why? That's what I don't get
1) It feels like the Pels are in a blood feud with Klutch.
2) Zion worships at the altar of his Airness, Michael Jordan, and didn’t fawn over LeBron. Zion’s first game against the Lakers as a rookie was back and forth until LeBron decided to take over in the last few minutes. After Zion scored late LeBron hit a pull-up 3 from 35 feet, immediately stared down Zion from across the court, and then closed out the game to show the chonky prince that he was still king.
3) Ingram clearly still takes the way he was tossed aside by the Lakers personally.
So the foundation is set with that.

These are all reasons for the Pelicans to want some with the Lakers, but why would the exalted royalty of the LAL franchise want to start shite with our poverty franchise? That's what I don't get. It clearly matters to them and they were deflated after the game last night.

It’s one of those things where a seemingly superior person just couldn’t care less about the supposedly inferior person.
They care so little they post about it on the internet. Again and again and again.

This. I don’t want one single client of theirs any where near our team.

I think you forgot how the blood feud with Klutch started. They tried to force AD out during the season and Mrs. Gayle told them GFY and made them wait until the offseason. Can you believe the gall of this poverty franchise making royalty wait? Blood Feuds tend to have the hatred flowing both ways.
You also have the trade itself. Griff bet that exactly what's happening this season would happen. Every time someone brings up the top 10 pick this season, the Lakers see Griff pointing and laughing and saying "I told you so!"
Fun Bunch is right, some of the slights by the Pels to fuel the rivalry are probably in the Lakers minds fueled by their own insecurities and inability to accept who they actually are.
I'm sure it also doesn't help that Pels fans on social media are full on schadenfreuding the frick out of Lakers fans every where.

Yeah AD clearly thought their window would be more than "covid bubble playoffs"

They are salty bc it’s becoming clear they lost on the trade bc Ingram is a stud, those draft picks are going to be very valuable in the next few years, and there roster isn’t essentially screwed at this point. I think actual NBA people are starting to figure it out (ESPN media personalities excluded).

We get a little positive injury luck next year (which goes against our franchise curse) and...
Your post reminds me… remember we lifted the voodoo curse on the saints and the superdome that year before the rams playoff game I believe, and we had an uncharacteristically historical run since then. We might need to do the same thing at the arena and lift the burial ground curse there as well!!! Then these fluke injuries may stop!

There will be time to unpack the fallout of this season, the roster decisions that led the Lakers here, the toll of injuries to James and Anthony Davis, who returned on Friday after an 18-game absence.
But on Friday, it was just the aging Lakers suffering the indignity of being flattened by the team that less than three years ago traded its best player to Los Angeles and in that short time has surpassed the Lakers in the Western Conference hierarchy.
“For me, it’s another game,” Davis said.
But the spoils of that trade keep getting richer for the Pelicans. By effectively knocking the Lakers out of the Play-In, the Pelicans all but ensured themselves another top-10 pick from the Davis trade. If the Lakers pick – currently slotted eighth – lands in the top 10, it will stay with the Pelicans, whereas if it lands at No. 11 or later, New Orleans will have to send it to Memphis.
And though no one is trying to relitigate the trade for Davis, which led to the Lakers 2020 championship, it’s hard not to recognize the symbolism that was the Pelicans delivering the fatal blow to the Lakers season, if not the championship window of the Davis-James era.
INJECT THIS INTO MY VEINS

Ingram being a stud and embracing this city and us loving him back cannot be overstated. He has so much potential and he’s just scratching the surface with his leadership.
Please let this pick be Top 4 lol

Any time Anthony Davis returns from injury, it's too early. He's never fully healthy.

Need the Suns and Monty to do us a solid and throat frick the Lakers. Lakers have the Nuggets twice who are a half game back of the Jazz for the 5th seed. Rumors swirling that Murray is ready to come back too. Thunder will make sure they lose to the Lakers so we just need them to not luck into another win.

The Lakers have totally screwed up. We get their picks as they suck and their roster is poorly constructed. We also have BI who could have been a franchise player for them.
I’m sure they are feeling the heat and outside noise. They regret letting LeBoo take over their franchise and blow it up like he’s done at every stop. And with BI improving every year while street clothes has been sitting on the bench the last two years, is not a good look.
A win over us quiets some of the noise. Looks even worse now that we swept them without Zion. And we own their future the next couple years to top it off lol.

We destroyed their franchise sending them AD. Sure they got their Disney title, but they will have nothing to show for it besides that, and are now stuck in franchise hell. They will be process Sixers bad soon, except no light at the end of the tunnel war chest full of picks.
