He’s only making about $2m, so he gets to stay as big man depth barring someone wanting him as a throw in during a trade.

How does Jahlil Okafor play into our plans next season?

I don't think he plays into them at all as a forethought. If he's still here and not 5th on the depth chart then, neat.

He’s back up in this league. Defense is just not good enough and inconsistent to be a full time starter or get a lot of minutes

his deal would be ending when Zion's rookie deal is as well.

I don't think that's necessarily a good thing.

To be fair, Lillard had a few good workouts and suddenly he was Lillard to some teams. I remember us thinking we had a shot at him at 10 before he started rising up draft boards. Did we ever find out if the random guy on twitter was legit that allegedly overheard Dell at the coffee shop on the phone saying he liked Lillard and Drummond?

The kid is going to be great and I really don't get how people don't see how perfect of a fit he is for Zion, Jrue, and, Lonzo.

He is a perfect guard to groom as the future PG that can start his career off as sixth man spark.

Okafor would be great to have to give a Turner a spell on the bench in the second quarter.

I'm not questioning his fit

I feel like people have bought way into the hype when theres little substance to warrant it.

I don't think he's necessarily full-time starter material, but we could do a lot worse than him at the 5.

3rd big at best but probably 4th big in a rotation. On the right night, you can look for him to punish 2nd units and small lineups

You’re right. People have fallen in love with his potential and basing it off 5 games. Meanwhile Ja proved it over the course of the season and in March.

But yeah, let’s take Garland over Ja lol

lol not to my knowledge

I've never said I don't like what I see in Garland. But it worries me to have only seen highlights from 5 games. he's essentially jumping from high school to the NBA & thats a massive transition.

I'm on the record in favor of Garland well before his recent hype.

To me it has been Zion and Ja, with Garland and Barrett rounding out the second tier.

He just has all the skills you look for in a modern NBA PG. And I've said it before, you don't need 20 more games to see those skills. It'd be nice to have to see how his game adjusts and grows over a season, but his ability to use screens, his elite handles, and his shooting form and ability to create space is not really going to be in dispute.

If we could turn, Ball and a few first into number #2....

We would still have a shitload of picks plus..

Ja,
Jrue,
Ingram,
Zion
Turner

....That team would be some bad mofos in the near future..

It cost to play...

Would that team excite you?

They would run people off their feet...

A starting lineup of Ball, Holiday, Ingram, Zion, and Turner means teams will barely score 90 on us. Then bring Hart, Niko, and Vet PG like Collision and that’s a young playoff team.

Until Ball agrees to change those shot mechanics, he’s a detriment on the court. The guy is a 38% fg and 45% ft shooter at guard and misses way too many games in a season. Maybe that will change in a new city/uniform. As of now, all that he offers is good defense and some nice passes.
