trade the pick.

The only thing that the draft has done for the Hornets/Pelicans is lock a player here until they hit their PRIME, then they leave.

So until they change the culture and format of growing a franchise you will continue to see frustration and ups and downs of building a mediocre franchise.

Sad but true.

There is no format for winning in Nola other than through the draft. Do you see New Orleans as magically becoming some fee agent destination for stars to want to come play?

BPA and arrange your pieces past that.

I’d seriously consider finding out what Zion would get for us to liquidate some assets and clear cap space if this happened.

Has everyone been watching Flagg?
He is the top player, but IM not sure where i would rank him looking at previous drafts.

Better than Panchero, Holmgren, Cade, ,Green, Victor, Edwards?

If he stays healthy im happy I guess.

Just forget the generational talent shite. That's how you prematurely anoint guys who aren't alphas.

Get a top 4 pick and figure out the rest later.

My process doesn’t change. I’m trading everyone not named Herb, Trey, and Missi.

This era is dead. These next 2 drafts are loaded. Lean into the rebuild.

Take bad contracts for picks. Hell id take Brad Beal if he comes along with 2-3 1sts. These are the kinda moves the thunder made to build their war chest

1. The picks going with Beal are absolute shite.

2. Beal’s got a no trade clause. Even if he agrees to come here, we can’t necessarily get rid of him.

3. Beal’s got one of the largest contracts in the league, which is a LOT to eat for three shite picks.

He looks pretty fricking good.
He struggled a little bit early on but he clearly looks like the best player in the country right now. Hes creating for himself and more importantly for others as well.
I think he’ll be similar to Banchero.

I think Flagg will be much better than Banchero. Flagg should eventually become a solid 3-pt shooter which is a fairly big deal...in today's NBA. I'm having trouble imagining Banchero ever developing a solid 3-pt shot.

Plus...as you say, Flagg can create his own shot and MOST importantly...will make others on his team MUCH better players. This guy has made major improvements in his overall game...in the short time...he has been at Duke. He is VERY smart and a great defensive player. I'm not sure what else I can say about the guy. He is the REAL DEAL...NOT just the #1 pick in this year's NBA draft.

He’s a much better defender and passer than Banchero was. Duke is the No. 2 team in the nation, and Flagg leads the team in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals (tied) and blocks (tied). He also just turned 18 less than 2 months ago.

All of this. Plus any deficiencies you see in Flagg’s game just remember he’s like the youngest guy in college basketball. He won’t turn 19 until December 21st of his rookie year. He’ll be 18 for 2 full months of his rookie year.

He’s the number one pick without at doubt.

ETA: The best part about Flagg is he is a motherfricker in the best way. He has that Jordan/Lebron/Luka level drive to be the best player and kill everyone in front of him. He’s a huge shite talker which I love. Basically the anti-zion

How would a Zion/Flagg front-court pairing work? Could those two co-exist or no?

Maybe not front court but Flagg can play the 2/3. I still believe in Point Zion.

Flagg
Trey

Offensively there’s no issue with Flagg/Zion/Trey.
Defensively is an issue b/c one of them has to guard the opposing teams best player, most likely a SG/SF, and another one has to also guard a wing player.

We shouldn’t be even thinking about that. We should not be making future decisions based on Zion. Zion is an afterthought at this point. We’ve given him 6 years to prove he’s a guy worth making team building decisions around and he’s failed spectacularly.

Forget about Zion.

IF...we could somehow land Flagg...the only thoughts I would have regarding Zion would be...WHO could we trade him to...and how quickly...could we do so.

It’s not even Flagg for me or any top 3 pick. I’m trading Zion no matter what. It’s over for him here. It’s time to reset, I don’t care if we get the 7th pick, my thoughts don’t change
