Since Herb started getting 30+ minutes every night he's averaged 10.3 pts, and 2.3 asts on 47.5% from the field and 33.5% from three.

What do you think his offensive ceiling is? He's 23 right now, so imagine his offensive game when he's say 27/28. What does that look like? Is out possible he's a 16-18 ppg a night guy with 4-5 asts? Or is that thinking to high?

With current roster and Z coming back I don’t really see him getting the minutes and shots he’s getting now. He could become our Rodman and wreak havoc in other ways . He’s way better than I thought he’d . Great asset for Pels going forward.

I think it will always depend on the players around him.

Herb has always been a high IQ player that understands his strengths and weaknesses. The improvements he’s made beyond the arc and at the free throw line in the last 12 months are huge. That said, he know that there are better shooters, better dribblers, better post players, etc.

Basically if Herb is taking a shot it’s usually the correct shot. Don’t think you’ll ever see him dribble and pull up from mid range like a BI or CJ with someone in his face. His length and bounce make him a problem at the rim though, and I think that part of his game will only get better. So yea, he could be a 15ppg game but I don’t see it with this group of players because Herb understands that the team is better off when CJ, BI, and Jonas are taking the majority of the shots, and Herb just cares about winning. I don’t think he’ll ever produce the shot volume to hit those numbers consistently on the offensive end, and every team in the league wishes they had a player like that who understands exactly what they’re good at and doesn’t have an ego about points scored

On this team, it may not be more than 10-12 points.

How many NBA teams have three legit 23+ ppg scorers and a 4th who scores in the high teens?

Herb is actually the perfect player for this team. We only need him to be able to finish and hit down open 3s. Anything else is lagniappe.

I'd like to see him improve as a facilitator more than increase his scoring.

I think on a bad team he could eventually be a 16 ppg scorer.

A little bit better at facilitating/dribbling, a little more reliable at hitting corner threes and threes in general, and a little better attacking disrupted defenses off the dribble.

That's really all he needs to be a perfect fit next to CJ/BI/Zion/Jonas.

I don't think his minutes are going down even when Zion is back.

Herb is part of the core group now. This team's starting 5 with Zion is probably top 2-3 in the league imo.

The beautiful thing about Herb, is that unlike other d specialists, he's not a liability in any way. He can hit 3s, he can finish, and he's great at the line.

We need to start figuring out the cap situation in a few years because he's going to get PAID.

The Pels have no need for Herb to maximize his offensive skills. So I'd say Trevor Ariza. He may not average more than 10-15 ppg, but he has the occasional game winning 20-30 point outburst in him.

He could probably be more than that if he were on a team that didn't have as much offensive fire power already.

Trevor ariza sounds about right. Peak was a 15/6/3 player who shot 40% from 3.

Herb being a 15/6/4 player who can go 45/37/80 will be deadly on this team

After seeing how much he has improved year over year since he came to Alabama I am very cautious about trying to put ceilings on Herb Jones.

I keep seeing people saying Herb's minutes May go down when Zion comes back. That's foolish talk. Every team in the league wishes they had a defender like Jones. Add in the fact that his offense is not a liability and there's no way he plays less than he is now.

His offensive ceiling is attached to his 3P accuracy. He doesn’t need to increase volume, just accuracy from deep. We don’t want him needing the ball. Knock down threes and get points when the opportunity presents itself

The attribute that separates him from 3/D types is his ball handling, IMHO.

If he gets a little better there, the sky is the limit.

And his ability to take contact and finish at a high level. He also has very soft hands around the basket.

His offensive ceiling is a lot higher If he ever learns how to shoot off the dribble. He’s shown a lot of flashes of dribble penetration and finishing from 10ft in. A pull up jump shot would make him scary.
