What's the evidence for that? BI was a below average defender this year guarding opposing SFs, so how do think that he can handle guading SGs.

He needs to employ the Peja defense. One of the blogs profiled it back in the day. Basically play off to prevent the drives but you're so tall you can still challenge shots. The end result isn't good but is passable, and that's all we need out of someone scoring 24 ppg.

What's crazy is that we went into a season a few years ago with E'Twaun as our starting SF. Dell Demps, man.

This changes nothing then. Their position labels are merely a formality

You need a competent "3" in order to create an advantage of playing Ingram as a "2"

Didn’t the official measurements they did this summer have him at 6’7? He’s 1 inch taller than Klay Thompson.

With him saying “essentially” after, I take it he was just trying to emphasize Ingram having a legit 3 level game as a tall guy, even tho I think he over exaggerated his height

The essentially was a qualifier for sure. But it still made me wonder if they are going to shift him to playing 2/3 instead of 3/4

He did really well for the Lakers at the Point.

I would keep Holiday and trade ball. Move Ingram to the point and find some size at center.

One of the teams that i wish would try and build a package for Jrue is Toronto, because of Anunoby. I love his potential. Him and Powel along with salary filler and a pick i think would be a nice haul. Not sure if Toronto would do it though. Their GM is elite and is building them up the way im hoping we do.

It does list him everywhere as 6'7. I know it was supposed to be official, but he is bigger. Ball is officially 6'6 and Ingram is at least 2 inches taller.

Criticizing his abilities to guard "2's" on defense is absolutely fair but ignores that offensive and defensive roles can be different. His playing like a guard on offense doesn't mean he automatically needs to turn around and defend guards on the other end.

To be fair, Josh Hart looks the same height, if not a hair taller than ball in this pick, and favors looks a couple inches taller than everyone there and he’s listed at 6’9. It could be shoes making the difference, but hard to tell here

Hart and Ball look to be the same height. Ingram is a full forehead taller than Hart. Ingram and Favors look to be the same height. But you are right that shoes and hair could make a difference. Ingram looks like a sloucher with bad posture, so maybe that is contributing..

Both should go. This team isn’t going to do anything significant for the next 2-3 years. Better off sending Jrue to a contender and getting solid assets for him.

I’m not out on Zo yet...and Jrue, who I advocated strongly to be traded when AD demanded his trade, is actually someone I want to hang around for the right price.

His peak value has passed. When your shooting guard can’t shoot consistently it’s a problem.

But now he’s a culture guy, I believe. If he can be that, we hang his jersey.

I’m not sure there is a great market for him either. Teams will wait it out for his free agency.

Guy just came off his worst Per as a Pelican, a regression in pretty much every advanced statistical category, and will be 32 when his next contract starts. For a guy that is not a great shooter and doesn’t get to the line much, that’s a tough type of offensive game to age gracefully.

There should probably be an honest conversation if Jrue is really in our long term plans? Because if he is merely a guy that is around before we are truly ready to contend in 3-4 years, we should probably consider packaging him to get someone who can be.

Before the bubble I really liked the idea of keeping the core together and going after Turner, but with Lonzo’s bubble regression and Jrue’s taking a step back this season, I do wonder if Griffin is going to be more open to some drastic changes
