I agree with you, everything you said is most likely correct, but I think Milwaukee would really not want to trade Giannis and go into next year without full control of their own pick, hell the next 3-4 years most likely. It's not like Trae is going to lead them out of the lottery by himself. As it stands now Milwaukee would be get the better pick between us and them this year, but we would be able to do the same thing next year, and if both teams are top 4 the pels get both 2027 picks. Maybe they gamble on 26-27. Maybe they want to do the full rebuild with their own picks. Its a toss-up to me.

I watched Bill Simmons last night (I know) and he was talking potential Giannis trades and the Bucks blowing it up. One of the potential trade options was with the Hawks and they were discussing Trae and the Pels pick/bucks swap as the two biggest pieces. I keep thinking that us holding the bucks pick next year as a hold up to Milwaukee not moving forward with the restart. Is there any chance that we could get our first back this year as part of this deal? Perhaps a 3 team where the hawks send out Trae, we get our first back and the bucks get full rights to their first this year and next?

Hawks get Giannis and would give up:
1.Trae
2.our first this year
3. lesser of Pels/Bucks first next year

Bucks get Trae and full rights of their 2026 and 2027 picks but give up:
1. Giannis

Pels get back full rights to 2026 pick and give up:
1. Bucks swap rights next year

I think Herb is getting traded for a center. I think local press thinks it's likely and reading through tea leaves I think they've dropped some hints. Idk what would have to be attached to herb to get Allen, but if it's 23 we should consider it. Not interested in Claxton and Sengun would be several more firsts. Look to see if we take Gonzalez with 23 as potential sign we're trading Herb. Personally I want two lottery tickets on this draft so Essengue/Fears/Bailey with 7 and Beringer/Newell/Traore with 23. We no longer are trying to fill in the edges and we need some long term all star potential.

Fingers crossed the 2nd is the 25 one from Portland.

2019 is so perfect for so many reasons, but one of them is Bama knows that an LSU team lead by Ed Orgeron came into Bryant Denny, beat one of Saban's best teams, and then went on to become the greatest team in CFB history. No matter all their championships that is one thing they'll never have. Had 2019 never happened somebody one day would have tried to put one of Saban's Bama teams against 2001 Miami. No chance of that now. They can have the most but never the best.

If Missi is going to be a good rim runner and rim protector, then we have to decide if it's worth trying to make a run this year. Which means we don't trade anyone during the season and try and figure it out in the off-season. IF that's the case then we have to decide how best to utilize the guys we have. CJ is a better offensive player than Trey, but a lot of what he does is redundant when he's on the floor with DJ and BI and Zion all at the same time. IF CJ was willing to come off the bench then you have a very good 6th man who can shoot at an elite level and is able to consistently get off his own shot. Something we don't really have off the bench. Trey is an equal floor spacer and better defender but cannot initiate the offense. It's all about balancing the lineups. We have 4 guys who are all star level at shot creation, we should try and spread them out when we're all healthy. I think if we're actually a top 3-4 seed then he'd be willing.

I'm pretty sure you're trolling here but on the off chance you aren't: He may not have earned the next contract yet but that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve it. On anywhere from 10-15 different teams he's been a full time starter for two years. For us he's had to come off the bench because Griff couldn't make the tough decision and move Ingram last off season or early last year like he should have. He's been for the most part a much better starter than bench reserve for whatever reason and I think had he been playing 32-36 minutes a game as a starter for the last two years we're probably giving him a bigger deal than he's eventually gonna sign. His floor is a bigger hyper athletic Duncan Robinson who doesn't get played off the floor with his defense. That is a very expensive player. His ceiling is All Star and that typically is a max guy. We're gonna end up paying him somewhere in the middle of that.

1. Paying a player max salary to a player who's borderline top 30 at best has historically been a death sentence to NBA front office's, I.E Bradley Beal, Zach Lavine.I don't want the Pels to be the team who adds the next name to that list.

2. He's shown that he is unwilling to adapt his game to become more efficient/additive to his teammates. He has plenty of talent to make a max contract a value but he's shown that he doesn't fit well with better talent. I.E FIBA, Zion. He wants to be the #1 option.

If he would be willing to shoot 6-8 3's a game while playing the defense he showed last year in addition to everything else he brings to the table then I'd be willing to consider him staying long term at a max salary, but even if he does it for one year he's shown that isn't who he is and that he will eventually revert back to what we see every other season in his career.
