o let’s talk about the angle in all this.

Someone in the Pels gave this to Fletch for a reason. What is that reason?

I’m assuming obviously to force knicks and lakers to offer more. Maybe even pushing them even further to get the #2 pick

Ingram, Kuzma, Ball, and pick #4

Is better than

Tatum, Smart, filler, and pick #14

If the Pelicans take the lesser offer just because they dont want to trade with the Lakers then they are stupid.

Again, can't always assume that these are deliberate leaks, but if so, it's to let teams know what the baseline offer is. If they get a better offer, they would do the same with that one.

Because they became resigned to it, and certain types of people that don’t actually believe it and are strictly contrarians argued hard for it so all of a sudden they all want it.

If the Celtics offer includes the Memphis pick, it clearly is better.

I think the Pelicans feel the Boston trade has maxed out. Therefore they want more from another team like the Lakers or Knicks.

I would not be surprised if the Lakers pulled Ball, Kuzma, or Ingram off the trade. The Pelicans are trying to get at least Ingram, Ball, and pick #4.

Yeah, that's always how you win a competitive bidding situation with multiple motivated bidders, lower your offer. Lakers fans

If that is their reasoning than yea it is stupid. But if they Value Tatum and Smart over those guys than no its not stupid.

Whatever happens, i dont want them to take a spite deal. If they legit feel that LA has a better offer than go for it. If they legit feel Bostons is better than go for that.

But honestly, as much as a fanboy of Tatum I am it cant be just him and filler in that deal.

It really isn't, though. Further, by the time they would actually matter, you'd never resign them all.

Not to get all crewz on you, but winning in the NBA is simple enough to explain. You basically need a top 5 player, plus two other top 25 players. If you have that, you matter. If you don't, you don't. Kinda how you don't matter in the NFL without a top 5 coach and a top 5 QB.

You can cite outliers for both sports, but that really is pretty much the deal. If you have Zion and Tatum, and maybe JRue has a long enough prime or he gets replaced by a 3rd All-star caliber guy, you can matter. You aren't getting that with anything the Lakers offer you unless you get super lucky on the #4 in a way that no one expects to happen.

I used to think this guy was maybe just a bit retarded or trolling.

Then I went to Reddit. Lakers fans are legitimately retarded. And so so so so salty/entitled.

I can understand if true about Boston maxing out but don’t feel like the Lakers would pull anyone of the table there to desperate

The Knicks are just as desperate to add a superstar to the mix so they don't blow another FA with cap space. They should be all in which should push the Lakers.

PLUS the Nets/Hawks/Clippers "admitting defeat" doesn't mean they're all out of the picture. Their deals would come back on the table with the quickness if the Lakers started pulling assets.

Yeah, they are ridiculous. FWIW, not trying to front like I am Woj or be coy, but my opinions aren't purely speculation. I'm only here because crewz was dropping truths, even if IMO he failed to separate what he was told with what he thinks.

Wouldn't be surprised if the deal goes from
Tatum, Smart, Williams, #14
to
Tatum, Smart, Williams, #20, Memphis pick
then to
Tatum, Smart, Williams, #14, #22, Memphis pick

That's how things go, Pels tell Ainge no to his first offer, they add the Memphis pick and we tell them we'll get back to them, but before we do anything they come back with the final offer, which we accept.

I just hope David Griffin get the best deal out there. I understand the love affair with Tatum but I would definitely try my best To get RJ Barrett to team up with Zion

I dont think the Lakers have offered as much now as they did during the season. Main reason is pick#4 is a lot better than what everyone thought the pick would be.

I havent seen as many people saying Ingram, Ball, Kuzma, Hart, and the draft pick like we saw from Magic a few months ago.

The Lakers also know through Rich Paul that they could wait and sign him in 12 months.

And Ingram and Ball are much worse assets due to injury.

They just literally learned the opposite yesterday via media leaks.

Honestly, if I'm the Knicks or Lakers and I see a leak that Boston reportedly isn't offering the Memphis pick then my first thought isn't to offer the Pelicans more but less. Griffin would be a fool to accept that Celtics deal
