It’s amazing the lack of information coming out of the Celtics huh?

I would not be surprised if they have a couple of weak offers on the table, with a message to Griffin was to bring the best and final offer from LA to them. Not much to talk about until then. They aren't the one who needs to find a 3rd team.

Jrue Holiday is 29, guess the Pelicans can't use him, either? Beal is an amazing talent, has multiple years left on his contract, and is in his prime.

Some of you think the Pelicans are going to be able to compile this Super-Team of three plus can't-miss-all-stars-to-be between the ages of 20 and 23. And then go on to dominate for a decade or whatever.

That's naive. You take a package with Beal 10 times out of 10 over Tatum who may or may not live up to his potential.

That's not how to build around Zion.
AD is trying to get himself to LA, maybe NY.

There are 26+ teams in the same boat here, including yours.

What does that even mean?

I'm not trying to be crewz. Haven't even told you guys anything. But yeah, my takes here are not totally uninformed.
quote:

Washington Beal and who do you think we get from the hawks? Their pick or Collins(I wish)?

Beal isn't what the Lakers need... first of all, you aren't getting him without Ingram. Second, matching salaries challenging, even in a 3way. They would likely need to eat into their max cap room.

Surely this didn't just drop on ainge or he wasn't expecting it in some capacity

They have known for a minute now.
Derp. They are being used by you guys to help promote a bidding war.

LA is a total clown show. Entitled and inept at how this all works.
quote:

You still think the Celtics are in?

Of course. Their offer will reflect this, but that was always the case. Anything with Tatum beats anything else I have read, though.
Rich Paul would still be selling hats at the mall if LeBron hadn't brought him into his circle. Lakers will lose out on AD and any and all major FAs this summer, effectively wasting the end of LeBron's career.
quote:

I hope Ainge's plan B is not Conley and Capella, the two that have been tied to Boston. That would be terrible if they lowballed on AD to settle for that.

I don't think he is lowballing. People are just overrating the Lakers' assets and getting unreasonable expectations amidst all the hullabaloo.
quote:

I used to think he was just trolling but then I went to Reddit.

Lakers fans are actually like this but worse, actually.

I'll be ready to accept your apology after we see what he gets dealt for.
quote:

Yep, but we still would do the Boogie trade every time. We really had no other path to have a shot at keeping AD.

What I wonder is does Boston have another choice? Let's say you guys pass on AD and Kyrie leaves, what's your path to getting a better player than Tatum?

I guess on Boogie. Was always low on him and high on Buddy, though. As to Boston, yeah, there is definitely a calculus involved. Past a certain price, they will move on to Plan B. Which is why I don't think they will be leveraged here. IMO Griffin just doing his due diligence, but the fact that he is trying to use the Lakers to get better deals isn't a good sign for a bidding war. Guess we will see.
quote:

And, for the record, I wouldn't be bothered if AD went to Boston. In fact, it would be hilarious since he would leave after 2020, anyway and the Celtics would have overpaid for a rental.

Like you guys did with Boogie?
quote:

Yep, you're definitely Crewz.

Nope. Homie is off tweeting about how the Lakers can somehow get Beal without giving up Ingram. That definitely ain't me, lol.
quote:

You're here because you have nothing better to do at 10pm on Tuesday. You're not any more savvy than the Lakers homers overvaluing their assets. Crewz is a momo. And you're probably his alt since you seem oddly obsessed with him.

8pm where I am at. Been here for a few months and have never seen you make a meaningful contribution to any conversation beyond chirping at people who are much smarter than you are.

That's cool. Here's what happens next: Either the Pels will find a legit dark horse with a legit centerpiece to beat out Boston, or I will be back here to teabag my sweaty nuts up and down your forehead after AD is traded for Tatum, Smart, the 14, filler and *maybe* one of the Grizz pick or Jaylen.

Either way, AD will NOT be traded to the Lakers, much to the Pels good fortune.
quote:

We go from Lakers fans telling us we have no leverage and we’ll take what we can get to Celtics fans telling us we have no leverage and we’ll take what we can get.

This is fun

My takes are likely way more nuanced and informed than whatever Lakers clowns you are lurking on Reddit or twitter. Why the frick do you think I am even here? This dude crewz starts posting a lot of verifiable stuff at the trade deadline, and it got my attention.

He's not here to explain things to you anymore, but even if he were, I get the feeling reading his twitter that his access to good information got curtailed with the switch to this new regime. Maybe he is still plugged in to some extent, but I don't think he has a line on Griffin like he did on Demps and/or Ferry. So not only is he not giving you good info anymore, he's not even here to mock the utter stupidity that gets thrown around.

Point blank: The Lakers assets are not that great. Some come with great risk, and others are outright toxic. And unless they find a way to blow away the field on this, they aren't even in the game. Your owner and Loomis hate these guys with the intensity of a thousand suns, just as Pop did when the Lakers did this with Kawhi.
quote:

It sounds like the Knicks and Lakers are working hard to make things happen.

Sounds as if you guys have no interest whatsoever in the 3rd or 4th picks in this draft. And if a team about to enter a full/partial rebuild doesn't value those picks, exactly who do you think does?
quote:

So is it your position that Griffin’s talks about 3 team trades with the Lakers and Knicks is him maneuvering to up the Celtics offer?

Asking them to find a 3rd team is a flat out rejection of their current assets. They are being sent off to peddle their side dishes for someone else's entree. Good luck.

We will see what happens, but sure doesn't look like Griffin is getting the bidding war that he wants.
