It's the same phenomenon as when a beautiful woman gets brought up on the OT. What immediately happens is that guys instantly brand her as a 6. They will imagine all kinds of flaws with her. It's hilarious, but why does it happen?

It happens because those guys on the OT couldn't get a woman like that in their wildest dreams. And, because they were raised in an era where their precious self-esteem was protected at every level, they can't deal with the fact that no OT 6 would give them the time of day. So, to compensate for the fact that they are with some fat cow, or (more likely) that they can't get any woman at all, they microscopically examine her for any possible flaws and declare her unworthy of men such as themselves.

It's preemptive sour grapes. It's because the Pelicans still have a very insecure fanbase.

That's why this board went after Durant yesterday. Too many of you are just too scared to get your hopes up. You'll bash KD as "injury-prone" or say that he has a "horrendous attitude" or say that he's no good anymore or that he would kill our culture ... and you'll say those things because of your own insecurities.

That's why this board bashed Kevin Durant yesterday and pretended that they didn't want him on the Pels. That's why every single one of our players (down to Naji !!!) was declared too important to our team to possibly trade for Kevin Durant. That's why you pretended that you didn't want a top-5 player to come to New Orleans.

It was the same thing a year ago when the piano story came out and this board went into a frenzy of Griff and Zion bashing ... because y'all were so scared that Zion was going to leave, just like CP3 and AD had left, and your insecurities couldn't handle it. I'm glad a lot of you admitted this at the time.
