I can't believe the crowd I am agreeing with right now, but GOP has jumped the shark.

You're still melting today.
Durant is not coming here. Nobody wants to deal with his drama anyway.
The pelicans have been in a negative light for too long already. He will takes his burner twitter accounts, pouting, and embarrassing pressers to phoenix.

All this Durant mess is causing you to lose it.

Thanks for your concern, but I'm really okay now that I understand what's happening on this board.

Posters can proceed with arguing that a role player is more valuable than a top-five player in the NBA, and I won't pull out what hair I have left.

You and I see eye to eye on a lot of issues. We were the only ones left on NAW Island before it sank. But you took your Zion theory, which is fine as one of many possible truths to consider, and you believed it exclusively when other, Occam's Razor explanations fit too. The level of commitment to your belief just seemed extreme. I'm not saying you're 100% wrong, you just didn't seem to have the supporting evidence to believe you were 100% right.

That's why this board went after Durant yesterday.

I think a lot of people are nuts to be dismissing Durant for basketball reasons. Health and commitment reasons are completely valid concerns though. We have no reason to believe he wouldn't do to us what he's doing to Brooklyn now, so we'd be paying full price on something that is possibly just a rental and would cost us many players that are way more valuable to us than they are to the rest of the league.

No one is doubting Durants bball abilities. No one wants to deal with another AD/ B.Davis/E.Girdon etc situation. And even a possible Zion situation that may have finally been smoothed over now.

My biggest issue is you give up the farm, we don’t win or it blows up and he wants out after a year or two. He will be even older and will bring back a smaller percentage of what we just sent out.

At least with Zion, if he doesn’t win and wants out in 3 years, we will still get an AD like haul because he will just be going into his prime. As long as he’s stays relatively healthy.

That's fair enough. I don't mind admitting, as I have already indicated, that I lost patience with people here yesterday and said some things that I shouldn't.

Speaking of NAW, he’s playing on Canada with Shai in the Fiba Games. Naw dropped 17 points (including 5 three pointers in game 1). Nick Nurse coaches that team and continuously hypes NAW up in interviews like he is his agent.

Want him back? Naw. Been there done that.

Maybe the Jazz get a taker on him though like Toronto.

Yeah, I think we can all agree that ship has sailed here.

But, I’m definitely rooting for him for the rest of his career.

He’s a sincerely good dude imo. Maybe if Utah blows it up, he will see some more run there.

I wish him the best but, for whatever reason, he hasn’t put it together when playing NBA level competition.

It may click one day but the more seasons you go without making that jump, the higher the chance it never happens.

Um, you don't think that when Sean Marks called, that David Griffin stepped out the room so that he could talk to him? And of course, if you decide to slow down a negotiation, you don't tell Zion and his agent that you are doing so to possibly trade him -- don't be silly. You do something like taking one of the details that you're negotiating about and tell Zion and his agent that you need to talk to Mrs. Benson about that detail, and then you have her be unavailable for 30 minutes. Stuff like that. Who knows if any of that happened? And shel? quote: This was definitely one of the weirdest days I've seen from a solid poster in GOP. He went off the rails and took one on the chin after taking his victory lap. LOL! I took no L's yesterday. My #1 contention was that we were in serious negotiations with the Nets for KD. I was absolutely correct about that, when the majority of the posters here were saying that it wasn't happening. I also spent a fair amount of time yesterday refuting idiots who kept saying nonsense about KD having a horrible attitude, being a malcontent, going to wreck our culture, and other hogwash. All of that remains utterly stupid. People even tried to do the "injury prone" stuff when there were playoff games last season where he played 48 minutes. All of that was just a disgusting display of ignorance from this board as a whole. My other guess (and that's all I ever claimed that I was offering -- I asked people for other explanations) was that Zion for KD was discussed. I still feel that it was. We'll never know, because Griffin will never admit it, but it obvious that the Nets didn't value Zion at the level that we did. Again, we'll never know, but there's no way that was an L for me. And I was always clear that I didn't want to make that trade, but that I was explaining why, if the front office did want to make, why they might want to make it. So, yeah, I was saying that if the Zion relationship stuff still had problems, etc. ... and people kept taking that to see me as taking shots at their precious angel Zion who could never do no wrong, as though they weren't the ones trashing him and trying to get rid of him a few months ago. Dementia is this board's problem. So, how did I take anything on the chin, shel?

Pels are not even on the board for Durant prop bets. This whole conversation is dumb

Where will Kevin Durant play his next minute?

• Phoenix Suns (-130)
• Toronto Raptors (+300)
• Miami Heat (+1000)
• Brooklyn Nets (+1000)
• Philadelphia 76ers (+1200)
• Portland Trail Blazers (+1200)
• Chicago Bulls (+1200)
• Golden State Warriors (+1500)

Golden state at +1500 is god awful odds considering their arsenal of young talent.

They probably think Durant doesn’t want to go back to being Dray’s bitch.

It took me a while to figure out what was going on here on this board, but it finally made sense.

It's the same phenomenon as when a beautiful woman gets brought up on the OT. What immediately happens is that guys instantly brand her as a 6. They will imagine all kinds of flaws with her. It's hilarious, but why does it happen?

It happens because those guys on the OT couldn't get a woman like that in their wildest dreams. And, because they were raised in an era where their precious self-esteem was protected at every level, they can't deal with the fact that no OT 6 would give them the time of day. So, to compensate for the fact that they are with some fat cow, or (more likely) that they can't get any woman at all, they microscopically examine her for any possible flaws and declare her unworthy of men such as themselves.

It's preemptive sour grapes. It's because the Pelicans still have a very insecure fanbase.

That's why this board went after Durant yesterday. Too many of you are just too scared to get your hopes up. You'll bash KD as "injury-prone" or say that he has a "horrendous attitude" or say that he's no good anymore or that he would kill our culture ... and you'll say those things because of your own insecurities.

That's why this board bashed Kevin Durant yesterday and pretended that they didn't want him on the Pels. That's why every single one of our players (down to Naji !!!) was declared too important to our team to possibly trade for Kevin Durant. That's why you pretended that you didn't want a top-5 player to come to New Orleans.

It was the same thing a year ago when the piano story came out and this board went into a frenzy of Griff and Zion bashing ... because y'all were so scared that Zion was going to leave, just like CP3 and AD had left, and your insecurities couldn't handle it. I'm glad a lot of you admitted this at the time.

I got a little frustrated with some of you yesterday, and I shouldn't have done that. I should sympathize with you in your weaknesses. I'll try to do a better job of that in the future.

Holy shite.

Someone needs to buy you a durant jersey.

I would guess they fell off as soon as Zion signed his extension.
