Just let the damn man go if that’s what he wants to do. He was going to buyout the deal himself he had with Denver so he could go to Greece. Why have a guy that clearly doesn’t want to play for you and force him to stay? JV has been in the league long enough, if he wants out the team shouldn't stand in his way.

Contract is a contract, so many of these players get paid millions and sit home,

Ben Simmons, Marbury, etc

The players have way too much control in the nba. Def not gonna hate on a team making a player honor his contract. He doesn’t have to play or show up. Damn sure not hating on a team for doing this.

More than anything, I think that JV just doesn't want to be a backup. He likes actually playing basketball. In Europe, he could still start.

Big difference when a guy wants to play in Europe vs playing in the same league, same conference as in the Gordon situation.

Exactly! Jonas still has starter potential in the NBA for some teams but he would be best player on his team in Greece and would be a 20 & 10 guy there. Plus he wants to be closer to home I’m sure. A flight from Athens to Vilnius, Lithuania is only about 3 hours.

However you wanna justify it…. Doesn’t change the facts of the original statement

He didn’t have to take the money, he could’ve forced the teams hand and took the one year qualifying offer. He also had another opportunity to leave a couple years later and he exercised his player option, so couldn’t have wanted to go that bad.

Huge difference as Jonas is willing to give up every penny remaining on his contract and just go play in Europe. Denver told him they wouldn’t hold him hostage to get the trade to go through, otherwise the trade likely wouldn’t have happened as Sacramento could have let him out of his deal and still made all their other deals.

He could just tweet that he doesn't like Trump's budget plan adding to the deficit

ICE would be there within the hour to deport him.

The reality is that owners have the real power, whether it’s the NBA of the NFL. I’m not shedding any tears for them…

So why can't he just retire from the NBA and go play in Greece?

The leagues have reciprocal agreements with one another and respect contracts. They would not allow him to play while committed to another league.

Eric Gordon signed and extension to be in nola once traded.
Jv got traded did not sign an extension or demand a trade.
And a side note JV is likable and a competitor Eric Gordon is a bitch
