I really like that trade. Have Jrue and Conley as proven veterans with Kuz and Ingram as the youth to develop... even though Kuz is already a very good nba player.

Sure feels like something fishy is going on.

I know Crewz said he wont be traded to the lakers and davis did this to do what's best for the organization but something seems fishy.

Its probably already been said, and that's why the front office made the point to include the NBA needs to enforce their tampering rules..

Still again, if that goes public or even to the other teams I say tell all of them frick off and I'm going to run his arse in the ground, or trade him to Boston or GS for trash salary and a 2nd..

Yes, I'm petty

Per Woj latest article:

Multiple league sources expect the agent and star to soon deliver word throughout the league that Davis’ preferred destination is the Lakers and he’ll become a rental player until 2020 with a trade anywhere else.

At which point tampering has absolutely occurred.

Even the trade McNamara proposed that he said he wouldn't HATE is terrible simply because there's no high ceiling talent. Jrue might be the best player on that team. If I'm the Pels I'm on the phone with the Knicks telling them if they want any shot at AD to give me everything and the kitchen sink now because the Lakers are coming after AD and the Pels might not be able to stop them.

Yes, this is a leverage play by Rich Paul to have it done before the deadline.

If the Pels have any balls, and based on their statement they do, they won’t accommodate it.

They will tell Rich Paul to get fricked, wait until after the deadline, and then tell AD to open his horizons or he’s going to spend another year with us or not playing basketball.

This has happened with others before. He will then magically decide 3-4 other places aren’t too bad.

do it just to piss off the Lakers and LeBron and to waste two years of LeBrons career. He’d be 36 by the time AD got to LA.

Good luck winning with a 36 year old LeBron and no one else since they won’t be able to afford anyone else

And the Lakers would need to make enough cap space to sign him, too. They could, but it would leave them totally depleted and unable to do much to fill out the roster.

They certainly wouldn't be instant contenders.

I think the Pelicans need to trade Davis before the deadline to the Lakers.

This summer the Lakers have enough cap space to sign Kawhi Leonard, Klay Thompson, or another top free agent. While Anthony Davis is better than anyone in the group the Lakers might decide that Leonard, Kuzma, Ingram, Ball, Hart, and Zubac is better than just Davis. Lakers might be less inclined to include all their top players this summer.

The Lakers can then wait and sign Davis in 2020 leaving the Pelicans with no return at all.

If it becomes more and more clear that Davis will be a Laker in 2020 then the Celtics, Bulls, and Knicks offers might be less and less for a rental.

Was listening to Zach Lowe podcast and they said Davis is cool with NY or Los Angeles, and I think isn’t against going to Boston. He just wants a chance to win titles.

Then why the frick would he be cool with NY?

Honestly if it comes down to taking that Lakers package or letting him walk for free after next year I’d take the latter. Bring in tProcess and go full on tank. That’d be much better than taking on some average players from LA that keep us in NBA purgatory.

Davis and his agent said he wants to go to a contender

You can't then start ruling out contenders like Boston, until you rule everyone out but the Lakers. That's fricked up

Sounds pretty hypothetical. Davis hasn’t said that yet but it sounds like Woj source is LeBron and Co.

I hope AD wouldn’t screw us like that.

AD saying he won’t sign the extension is best for the organization

AD saying he will only go to LAL is terrible for the organization

If he does that, we'll probably learn just how punitive the league's tampering rules can get.

Because NY is the biggest market in the NBA and they have TONS of cap space where they can realistically put 2 guys like a Durant/Kyrie or Durant/Boogie combo

Because if they trade enough of their stuff to the Pels for AD or AD/Solo then they have the cap space to add Kyrie and KD. That's also a big part of why the Lakers are trying to force this now instead of waiting for the summer. In the summer the Knicks would have much more information on if they could actually get KD/Kyrie to join AD. If they believe AD gets them Kyrie and/or KD then they will be all in on getting AD and the Lakers lose.

I kind of don't think this is Rich Paul. He'd probably be just as happy pushing AD to New York. It's LeBron.

Barring an insane offer, the Pels should absolutely not trade before the deadline. They have to wait until the summer when they know how the lottery shakes out.

We just saw a star player leak he would only play for LA to then stay long term in OKC.
