This was in the works ever since he signed with Rich Paul.

Piss the NBA and other teams off, make a bad trade with Lakers like they did with Chris Paul

Because anything is better than Demps running it.

This ain’t Pierce and KG to the Nets where both were old, starting to break down, and the resulting Nets team was in cap and luxury tax hell.

Even then, I’d want the same pick clause Ainge got where we get the right to switch picks every year between picks they owe us.

Absolute best case scenario for us is that the Lake Show caps out building around LeBron then he deteriorates, AD gets hurt, and their young guys don’t develop, meaning the 2021 and 2023 picks are worth a lot.

Worst case scenario is that we get a bunch of late 20s picks.

If you say so. It seems like everyone has been on board with all the trades Dell has made recently. But yea, lets let a guy who probably cant name 100 NBA players make this deal.

I agree. Everybody on here liked virtually every move that Dell made.

Agree. Demps has made some poor decisions, but he's had one arm tied behind his back at the direction of ownership's win now commands for a lot of his tenure. Combine that with the shitty luck, and you get this situation. Demps isn't awesome or anything, but he's sure as hell a better basketball mind than Loomis.

i made a long post about how demps's moves can look really bad in hindsight but most weren't bad moves

sighing solomon hill, however, was 100% retarded and completely fricked us when it mattered most

cousins was a worthy gamble and basically our only shot at keeping Davis. we just had extremely bad luck that he got hurt how he did. even a torn ACL would have gotten him a max deal and we'd be fine moving forward with AD

The fact I feel I can make a reasonable case that its not so cut and dry says how bad Demps honestly is.

For instance had Demps not been handicapped by Loomis the other season we would of never kept our draft pick because Demps, like usual, was looking to sell it off to bring in a marginal talent. That handicap landed Buddy and only because of that was there even the opportunity to bring in Cousins. Rondo, probably our most frugal, wisest move was in a large part a Cousins lobbying effort.

I'd file a very official and public complaint against the Lakers Organization as well as Luke Walton and LeBron Frickin' James. It would probably go nowhere, but the rest of the country would know who is running the NBA , and it ain't Silver.

Exactly.

I was playing devil’s advocate on the “three Lakers picks” trade and the worst case scenario is that we are better off buying scratch off lotto tickets.

lolwut? Everybody has hated damn near every move he's made since the CP3 trade, which was early in his tenure. The vetoed trade is when I knew he was the wrong GM for the franchise. So did David Stern.

This argument is and has always been bullshite. The win-now shite is HIS concept. Look no further than the vetoed trade, when he tried to bring in a pu pu platter of mediocrity. There was no foresight in that trade. Somehow, that assclown has survived nearly a decade of shitty, short-sighted moves. Maybe ownership is culpable in allowing it, but don't act like they were driving his moves.

don’t understand why Boston is not a preferred destination. They have a top 3 coach, one of the best GM’s and easier to get to the finals. If I were an NBA star that is where I would want to be right now. This isn’t about playing for championships but being LeBrons puppet.

I believe KG once said something to the tune of players don't get excited about Boston the city. But once they get there, they fall in love with the organization, the history, and the way you are loved by the fans.
