from the same mcmenamin conversation BTW
quote:

According to ESPN’s Bill Plaschke and Dave McMenamin: The #Lakers could reportedly risk losing LeBron James if they whiff in free agency and trade market this offseason.

Eric Gordon also wanted no part of this team and city. That’s what you also have to worry about for Ingram. Their fan base consisting of egotistical celebs and hypebeast nephews inflate the egos of all these players good or bad. If he comes here it’s gonna be a complete culture change for him. How’s he gonna take it? You gotta worry about that.

Ingram is a pretty humble down to earth guy. You're not going to find much social media crap with him.
I don't think he'd be upset about leaving the shite show in LA to come be a centerpiece in NO. He doesn't come off as the guy that wants all the big attention.

Why do we want a guy with a career 11.7 PER and numerous health issues to be our centerpiece?

It IS reminiscent of EG somewhat but I have a lot of confidence in Griffin and don't see him bitching out like Gordon did.

Plus the Pels have foundation stones already in place

Yeah, heard that.

Can’t wait until they throw max deals at Jimmy Butler and Cousins.

I mean they were kind of hamstrung into giving Jrue a deal he wasn’t worth, and now apparently is the guy everyone wants to build around

But more often than not those kind of moves (overpaying someone because you feel obligated) don't usually work out. I'd like more than a 1 year sample size of a guy like Ingram on my team before giving him a big payday.

Not sure if it is better or worse than last year where they had Beasley, Rondo, Stephenson, etc all there on one year deals being dangled as trade bait.

I remember the CP3 trade vividly and all the different offers

The night went from possibly getting Curry to Rondo to basketball reasons(and Iggy rumors)

It was insane and all kinds of crazy shite was happening

Jimmy is worth a max. Cousins is worth 10m at the most. I remember when he used to take DPOY Marc Gasol out to the perimeter and blow past him. Now he can’t even get a step on an aging Gasol. It’s actually sad to watch.

Jimmy is worth a max for now. Maybe not in 3-4 seasons.

The reason why I would love to see him in LA is that he is a competitor and he will dog the shite out of anyone he sees as slacking, up to and including LeBron.

I am in if they include the following:

Ball
Ingram
Kuzma
Hart
2019 4th pick
2021 1st
2023 1st

And Memphis agrees to send Conley to the dumpster fire out west for:

Ball
Kuzma
The 4th pick.
Solo

We get Hart, Ingram, Memphis’ pick this year, 2021 and 2023 dumpster fire’s picks.

Dumpster fire gets:
Our whiny vag
Conley

0 clue if salaries work.

Did you read about the procedure and what occurred in the surgery? It's a 3 months recovery timeline, which started in March. If it wasn't a structural injury, then he wouldn't have had to have surgery. If it was a blood condition, surgery (other than maybe to remove the clot), wouldn't have occurred.

From what I've read concerning the surgery and reason for the blood clot, there is a 10% chance of it recurring.
So, based on reading an article, you are comfortable with investing the Pelicans' future in him? If there was one structural issue, how is there any certainly that another does not exist? If there is only one more blood clot issue, his career is likely over. Imagine the Pelicans signing him to a max deal and another clot occurs. Then what? If he had been clear for a while after the procedure, it may be different. However, too big of a risk IMO.

A. I'm not the one making the call on this. I would assume that the Pelicans medical staff would evaluate Ingram and his medical history more thoroughly than I did.

B. I actually read more than one article, most were scholarly articles regarding the medical issue that he had, along with watching his exit interview where he mentions the surgery that he had.
