“According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, a lot of people inside of New Orleans' organization wouldn't have to reconsider anything. They were high on the Lakers' offer from the start. Speaking on The Sedano Show, here's what's McMenamin had to say:”

quote:

I spoke to several people within the Pelicans' organization in the past several months that have a really high opinion of Brandon Ingram, and beyond just Brandon Ingram, have a really high opinion of the trade package that was on the table that was ultimately rejected.

quote:

Literally this kid doesn't even have total control of his extremities yet. He's so long, he's got like that newborn deer lack of core strength. For Kyrie Irving to say that he though [Ingram] was defensively tough for him is a huge statement by Kyrie. And it says a lot about the fact that Brandon is making big strides in his core strength. Earlier this year, I saw him get blown by like he was nailed to the floor at times against point guards. He's very quickly adjusting. That's a big deal. He's 21 years old. It defies the imagination. How old was Victor Oladipo when he hit for Indiana? And [Ingram] is way more physically gifted than Oladipo.

The Lakers package certainly improved now that we know that their pick is No.4. The 4th pick + Ingram + Kuzma + Hart and maybe a future pick is a nice deal for AD. We could potentially even move up a spot and still get a guy like Barrett.

For example (if we moved Ingram to move up a spot):

Jrue
Kuzma
Barrett
Zion
Filler

You hear that Bos/LAC/NYK?

This article may as well have been addressed to them

Lakers needs to find anyway that they can to get the second pick. 2nd pick/Ingram/Mediocre player or pick is good enough for me

This is still a shitty package and Ingram is now damaged goods. His heath issues are a major concern and then you have other guys In the trade that still are going to be malcontents. Kuzma is still ridiculously overrated.

Celtics package is still the best. No one is beating that. But if lakers do get the second pick, they’d be on par with the Knicks package imo.

For the record, this information is not actually about Brandon Ingram or the Lakers, it's about the Knicks and Celtics.

You think that the knicks package is on par with the lakers if the lakers get the 2nd pick??? What in the knicks package is worth anything besides the pick they have to offer? Knox?? If the lakers get the 2nd pick, that package and the Boston package are the only 2 that matter.

The health issues can be accounted for in the contract like Embiid. I do like bringing on Ingram and #4 (Culver) and then see what we can get for Ball and Kuzma.

With Ingram, Jrue, Zion, and Culver we don’t need a primary handler. Depends on what we can get for Ball and Kuzma, plus what future picks they toss in.

From what I've read Ingram is at no more risk for future blood clots than the average person

Also, if you deal AD to LA, he probably stays thus rendering future Lakers draft picks mediocre to poor. If you deal AD to Boston it's less certain he stays and if Boston falls apart there's a chance those future Boston picks (along with the Memphis pick) could be lottery picks.

Ingram, Kuzma, Hart, 4th pick and flip Ball to Phoenix for their first, and your 2021 and 2023 first, I would consider. I want to send AD there just so he has to play in a worse dumpster fire than he did here.

He’s not, and I’m not overly worried about his medical from all I have read. But keep in mind, if he DOES get another blood clot, it could end his career being his second. It’s not that cut and dry for sure, but the risk is there even if the clotting issue is different. The NBA does not want a guy dropping dead on the court.

I also see this as Griffin leaking he loves the Lakers players to make the Knicks, Clippers, and Celtics up their offers. They already know everything that was on the table for AD and if Griff is signaling he is willing to accept it, that is your ground floor for offers.

If articles are any indication, pressure is building on the Lakers to put someone next to LeBron lest he force his way out.

Which could prevent Pelinka from lowballing us or pulling out in an attempt to screw us should it become clear they are on the outside looking in.
