re: Darius garland or Trae young

He seems to be very deliberate in his passes and waiting for an opening to manifest. Thats what a point guard and your primary ball handler is supposed to do.
Your PG is supposed to do this within the offense, and today, that role is diminished. That's why the traditional PG is a rarity, and even guys who were that (like Haliburton) have changed over time.
The problem with Trae, is that he refuses structure and to play within the offense.
There are reasons he is on the block, and there are reasons why nobody is expecting a huge (AD, PG, Gobert, DMitch-level) haul for him. Hence why there are reports more GMs seem to view BI as more valuable.

BI yes
Trae, no
BI and Trae are in the 40-60 range
Brunson/Haliburton are in the top 15 range.

The problem with Trae is what happens when that wide open option doesn't happen. Trae doesn't make "hockey assists"

You may want to re-read that report. A wider range of teams interested does not necessarily mean that he is more valuable. That just means that he's easier to fit onto a given team.

This is perfect! Willie Green has no structure in his offense- so Trae can generate the offense and do what he needs to do. Meanwhile Garland will be frustrated since Willie’s offense is too free flowing.

Exactly the rub.

There are several reports that have said Hawks are going to try to trade Trae. Hes firmly on the trading block.
I haven't seen one that indicates that they are committed to trading him. Everything that I have seen indicates that they are also open to trading Murray. If you have seen something that indicates that they will almost certainly trade Trae, then I would love to see it.
Otherwise, the Hawks have options. The Cavs do not. The Cavs have to trade Garland, which depresses his price.

You’re not going to see reports of a team COMMITTING to trade him. It ruins leverage and trade value. There are rumors of hawks looking to trade either murray or young, rumors of Cavs looking to trade Garland/Allen and pelicans to trade BI. No one said Cavs HAVE to trade Garland and no one said Pels HAVE to trade BI. The point being all these guys with their names in rumors are on the market and again are firmly on the trading block. I think you’re reaching here saying Hawks aren’t trying to trade him- yes technically no one is COMMITTED to anything including cavs or pels- but they’re gettable stars right now hence they’re on the trade market.
But here’s a confirmation showing Trae being on the trade market is very real and again no one will say they are FOR SURE trading anyone.

SFP doesn’t seem to grasp that concept. Teams that have decent pgs or top level scoring sgs will have no use for him. Combine that with his salary and the other reasons (defense deficiencies) and it will suppress his market. Our team is perfectly set up to fit him. Herb and Trey are more 3&D guys.
There are more teams that can easily integrate BI as a # 2 or #3 than having to remake an entire lineup to fit Trae. It just so happens our roster is tailor made for him and he’s a better player and fit than BI is for our team.,
This should be the easiest no brainer move of Griffs career. But then again I thought the same thing about trading Lauri for Ball at the time and he fricked that up….

Trae Young is a far better player than Darius Garland and a better fit for the Pels.

Klutch Sports will indeed meet with the Cavaliers this offseason to facilitate Darius Garland being traded, if Donovan Mitchell decides to stay,

The Mitchell/Garland backcourt is on their way to being split up.
Cancer. This is why I never want Klutch. So no Murray.
Trae fired his punk arse, so he's now an option.

Cleveland is going to have to choose between them and move the other anyway but getting out in front like this sure comes off as a power play by RP to disguise that Cleveland chose Mitchell.

Exactly, if Mitchell chooses to stay it’s obviously under conditions, and those are likely, firing the coach and trading Garland. Maybe even trading JA.

That's the plan: fire Bickerstaff and hire a coach Mitchell likes, trade Garland and Allen, and build around Mitchell and Mobley.
Shams report in The Athletic made it perfectly clear that this is what management wants, and Mitchell has also made it clear that it's what he wants.
So, I expect it to happen.

Garland and not even a 2nd thought.

Allen/Mobley is the same as Mitchell/Garland.
In each situation, CLE has to choose one and trade the other.

So what you're saying is:
Hawks: BI, Nance, (1) 1st
Cavs: Okongwu, EJ, (1) 1st
Pels: Allen/ Trae
This should get it done. If we need to add (1) more 1st to either team it would be worth it without breaking the bank. Might not be necessary tho.
In this scenario we fill all the voids.
1.PG
2.Center
3. Solidified role (CJ)
4. Keep Dyson for defense/ development
Keep Dyson. Best case scenario is that he develops offense and is a solid well rounded player. Worst case scenario is that he continues to develop his defense and we don't have to overpay for a very good defender that knows our system and his role.

Trae/ Jose/
Herb/ CJ/ Hawk
Trey/ Dyson/ Ryan
Zion/
Allen/
Our active cap for 24-25 is $145mil and 1st Apron is $178mil.
Trae+Allen = $63min in
BI, Nance, EJ= $50mil out
$24mil - $13mil = $11mil space to the tax give or take. Not including trade exceptions.
We can keep our 1st this year and Lakers 1st next year. Trade our 25' 1st and 1-2 futures 1st (27'/ 29') if needed.
