Coaching Prospect: Dan Craig. Get on board the hype train.

He is the lead assistant under Erik Spoelstra in Miami. He has been with the Miami organization for 17 years, starting as a video intern and working his way up. He was the GLeague coach of their affiliate in 15-16, won the GLeauge Championship, and was the GL Coach of the Year. In 2018, he was an assistant coach on Team USA.
He's young, only 38 years old I believe.
I think we can all agree at this point that Miami is an excellent organization, that preaches player development and conditioning more than anything. Erik Spoelstra has proven to be a very good coach, and Miami has a culture.
Craig is considered to be one of the their best player developers, and has worked with Bam Adebayo, Kendrick Nunn, Tyler Herro, and Duncan Robinson in some capacity.
Erik Spoelstra has praised his extremely high basketball IQ, and 2 years ago thought he was ready for a HC job:
Its time to think bold. Yes, its a big risk. But you get big rewards with big risks.

“DC’s so much further advanced than I was even my first game. I didn’t know what I was doing. DC’s a well-schooled, well-drilled basketball coach. This guy’s ready to be a head coach right now in the league. He can certainly handle one game. This whole operation the way we’ve worked it guys have really stepped up and taken on more responsibility.”

I think he's my #1 option right now. I have become very easily swayed by his resume.

I like him as James Bond.

I like Craig, Jordi Fernandez, or Charles Lee. I would like a well rounded younger coach who can grow with the roster.

That means he's been with Stan, Riley and Spo. He's basically to the Heat what Bud was to the Spurs. I'm down. The Pels have plenty of talent but not enough grit and toughness.

Better at least start interviewing him before other teams scoop him up.

Sounds like Chicago is or has interviewed him.

This year is probably going to be weird in terms of lack of coaching rumors because any playoff team wanting a new coach has had the opportunity to at least get the first interview out of the way informally in The Bubble.
Based on what Griff has said, wanting a coach that can generate buy in and Won't Bow Down isn't a marketing slogan, Craig seems like he should be on the list of assistants to interview.

Is this the same path Erik Spoelstra went through too?
We need to stay away from coaches who only did well when they had superstars. This is how we got f*cked with Gentry

Right. And they are the same age now as when Spoelstra got the HC job.

That's a really bad take. Spo always had the Heat competitive, even in the post LeBron years with aging DWade and Bosh. Now he has developed a young core without a true "superstar" and they are tearing up the east.

I think the Bulls are probably a bottom 3 option for coaches these days. The best coaches don't survive that circus

I'm pretty sure he agrees with you...

They've been proactive for almost 40 years. It has often been more on the side of short-sighted for the last 15.
