Seems like the suspension may be more so because he harassed her.

Right, I don't think the person who was harassed is going to be receiving punishment.

Matt Barnes says that “after finding out the details” regarding the situation involving Ime Udoka in Boston, that it’s “deep, it’s messy and it’s 100 times uglier than any of us thought.”

Gotta think there’s WAYYYYY more to this that will be coming out LINK

In press conference today, Boston owner said Ime is currently suspended and they will determine his future with the team at a later time. So he may still be fired, and likely will IMO

Wait, I thought he was suspended because he had a consensual relationship with a woman in the organization. I’m pretty sure there was no harassment involved.

I could be wrong but that’s what I’ve read so far. If I’m wrong then please excuse my ignorance and I will stand corrected.

That's what the original story was, still is for that matter. But it's pretty apparent there is a lot more to the story and it seems a few who do know the details (Matt Barnes included) are refraining from being the first to break the story.

If it's sooooo messy, why is everyone scared to say what happened and going out of their way to protect Udoka if what he did was so wrong?

Shams reported part of his punishment was due to "unwarranted comments" to the woman in question.

Purely speculation, but I think the most logical thing is there was a consensual relationship, potentially a falling out, and the "unwarranted comments" being Udoka harassing her.

There's obviously quite a bit more to this story. I'm guessing this will end fairly soon with Udoka voluntarily "resigning" as Celtics' coach and most of the really bad stuff never being brought to light...at least not, officially. Oduka will get part of his pay remaining (which he better grab & say thank you very much)...and the other involved party (or parties) will get a nice payday...the amount of which...will likely never be made public.

I don't see much future for Udoka in the coaching business...if this ends the way I think it will.

Ok so if he doesn’t have a future, why would he resign? They are obligated to pay him. You destroyed your own argument. The CELTICS are trying to get him to resign to 1 save face and 2 save money. It is in IUs best interest to shut up and hope this blows over.

Have you seen his contract? I would assume that there are instances where it could be voided, sexual harassment may be one of those instances.

I think they aren’t firing him because they really like him as a coach, but realized that they had to do something about his actions.

Or the investigation needs more time to come to a final decision but they have enough that he did something pretty serious where he can’t start the season. I would be pretty shocked if he is still the coach next year.

Yeah, I think it's likely that the relationship started out consensual, she ended it when word got out (to try to save her marriage), and then he didn't want to let her go and harassed her to continue it.

But maybe he got her pregnant and pushed her to get an abortion.
