I think I'm less upset about Boogie leaving NOLA and more upset this allowed to happen like this in the NBA. This makes the NBA less interesting and less entertaining. Something needs to be done but I don't know what. Not a lot you can do when someone that's worth 30 million takes 5 just to win a title. It's sickening for the competitiveness of the game

It's not about that in a vacuum. There's obviously some hurt feelings from negotiations and we weren't offering the max. Whatever it was, was probably less than 20 mil for maybe 2-3 years? Why would he lock himself up at a lower rate? He knows he's maybe playing half a season next year already anyway and he can rehab without getting rushed back and probably winning a ring on his way to hitting FA again next year.
You can knock him a ton, but honestly. it's the best move he could have made right now given the leverage he had. Just sucks its at our expense. How he looks after the calendar turns to 2019 will tell a lot about if we dodged the bullet or not.

A lot of folks are missing the point because that's just wrong. If he was worth that still, we would have paid it. He probably didn't have an offer on table from anyone in the league more than (or not much more than) 15M/year.

But the point is that if the Warriors can pay a guy 5 that would only agree to 15 or 10 somewhere else...then they have a different cap. In a game where a team plays 5 guys at a time...its unsustainable

This makes NO fricking sense unless Boogie is looking two years down the road. He isn’t going to sniff a Big enough role to have people chasing him next offseason. Maybe he just wants a free ring. This is pretty ducking lame man. NBA has a real problem on its hands.

I'm interested to see the bumps over the coming days about threads right after the injury. I bet a lot of folks were thinking it was for the best just in the sense of the long term in being able to sign him but in the end it just made it much harder. If he's healthy all year it's a pretty easy sign to the max and then call it a day.
