Ideal scenario would be something like:
#4 (CHI)
#11 (GSW)

For

Zion/ Herb/ Missi

And then you can keep DJ/ Trey until the deadline to flip max value or say F it and keep either.

Chicago wants Z and GSW want Herb, make it happen.

They aren't trading the #4 pick in this draft for any of that.

Especially now that Bryson is in charge and already anally raped Dumars once

Not likely but could be enticing with Missi. He is worth a mid 1st in his own right and they do not have a C on their roster.

Zion for #15/ '27/ etcc

Or

Z/ Missi for #4 straight up

Could be enticing with just 1 pick and adding a starting C for under $5mil.

If not then take #15/ '27/ etcc and trade Herb for #11.

We would have a full lineup and these assets to start the rebuild.
#11
#15
'27
'27

And have DJ/ Missi/ Trey/ Bey as tradeable assets.

Missi would already be gone if a team was willing to give up a mid 1st.

Missi was drafted #21, has played above his draft position, and would be #10-#15 in a redraft for that draft class. A weak redraft mind you. #15-#20 for Missi is not unreasonable at all.

We wouldn't make the trade because he's our starting C on a good contract making under $5mil and we don't have a better option or solution.

If we blow it up and trade everyone else then he would fetch similar value by himself.

You only trade him if you blow it up or have a chance to add him as a sweetner for that exact type of deal.

What am I missing? I started it with "its unlikely".

The value isn't just adding Missi, its Missi and 2 1st.

Z = (3) 1sts
Missi= (1) 1st

Z+ Missi = #4

You'd be giving up the value of (4) 1sts for 1 single pick compared to the Bulls giving up (3) 1sts for 1 player. Yeah it would make them atleast think about it.

(3) 1st for 1 starter OR (1) 1st for 2 starters.

This would be like someone trading up from #15 to #4 and giving them (2) 1st + Missi. Its not that crazy.

The value of (4) 1sts for (1) pick outside of the top 3?

Herb for #11 is a pretty fair trade.

Z has more value than Herb.....

So Z's value is somewhere around #11+ future protected 1st

Or #15 and (2) protected 1sts.

#11 + Missi + a protected 1st is NOT bad value or crazy for #4 pick. That's pretty much the exact value breakdown.

If CHI really likes a player at #4 then so be it but the value is pretty fair.

This makes no sense. Trading Dyson was a huge mistake before he developed. We aren't going to do the same with Missi while he's more of a project and looks even better than we thought.

His value is a mid 1st. We haven't done it because up to this point it would have been very dumb and he can get better.

Y'all are wild. Can't have a fair convo if you think Z is traded for 2nds and Missi isn't worth a 1st. I mean idk where to begin.

I think we could get Holmgren and at least one 1st (#12 of 17). That just fixes a lot of our issues right away.

He’s on a big contract, that would be a horrible return.

Zion has a massive salary. Missi isn’t worth a mid first in a good draft imo

the problem with that is if you trade for Zion there is a very real risk that you are trading for nothing. And for that reason I think you are wrong. One first round pick and matching salary is the top end of his trade value and I think that’s even pushing it. There’s nothing there to trade for…

and that’s a Zion problem not a pelicans problem

A career average of:
24.8pts/ 6.4reb/ 4.1ast is for sure "nothing".

Y'all are eaten up with your own emotions on the matter. Not a single team in the NBA truly believes they will frick up Zion's potential as bad as us or end up in a worse position than us.

The Pelicans being a sad, pathetic, failed, franchise does more for us in a trade that any damage y'all think Zion has done to his image.

Yeah I addressed that in the second half of the post.

Zion is not worth "nothing" or 1 shitty first no matter how much y'all want that to be true.

A minimum package from a team like Chicago would be #15/ '27 and we probably don't pull the trigger.

You are also ignoring the 10-20+ teams that will call about him and atleast end up with a few teams bidding.

Never heard of a Top 30 player when healthy that half the league will call about in a trade valued at "nothing".
