And then the near super max extension was a bigger one. Should have traded him.

Too heavy to play consistently in the NBA. Management got caught up in the hype and potential but ignored reality. Unless he drops to about 230 lbs he will never make it a full season. If he can never make it a full season he will never be anything more than a contributor.

Well if it makes you feel any better literally every single team would have done the same thing

Careful. You might hurt some feelings on this board but yes we should have drafted Garland or the other Duke guy Barrett.

Zion was/is the play. Management, S&C, AND Zion’s camp, should insist that his weight stay south of 270.

Zion had the medical red flags at draft time. Start with when his shoe blew up.

It wasn’t. You draft him 10/10 times, however, not drafting Garland at 4 is/was.

I agree, Everything after Zion was the issue. Everyone and their mother knew we needed a 5 out system with elite shooting around him. We failed massively in this area and have been trying to compensate since.

No because it wasn't.

Was Philly drafting Embiid a confirmed mistake?

You can debate me on resigning him was a mistake. But there is no debate on whether drafting him was one. He was the unanimous #1 pick.

So what was the better move? Drafting the thug alcoholic?

That's the reporting is that he has an alcohol problem and is in rehab.

"We have said that it's going to be at least these two games," Jenkins said. "I mean, this is going be an ongoing healing process. ... It's really not a timetable situation."

"We're taking this very seriously," Jenkins said. "There's a supportive element for someone that's got to get better and needs some help. But then there's also accountability to the team that we've got to stand for.

The wording they've been using definitely sounds more like rehab than laying low to let this blow over.

Maybe it's bullshite. Not exactly the most reputable sites but it's all over twitter and based on his behavior, believable.

Sure, but that doesn't mean alcohol.

If he's hanging with the wrong crowd and carrying a gun around like in the IG video, Jenkins could be referring to that stating that Ja needs to be better and needs help.

There's no way that is what we're using to automatically assume it's alcohol. It may be that, but that quote doesn't tell me that. There may be reputable reports out there that are saying specifically it's alcohol, I just haven't seen them, which is why I asked who reported it.

Either way, he's a total clown and no way I'd want him over zion. I wouldn't follow the Pels anymore if he were allowed to be on the team and act the way he does.

It's only a mistake with the hindsight you're armed with.

It would've been a mistake not to draft him too.

So what would you do without the benefit of hindsight?

Draft thug life Ja Morant?

Both players have proven to be tremendously flawed for different reasons but you cant sit here and tell me you'd take anyone other than those 2

Ja Morant might miss 50 games and some rumors are that he’s headed to rehab.

So no

Eta: saw the rehab rumor yesterday and didn’t see it posted
