. If confirmed, Davis will likely miss 2-to-4 weeks.

If 4 weeks, they should just shut him down for the season.

AD wouldn't allow that. But I think shutting him down through the break, including the break is about right.
Like I told you guys, he will tell management during the break that he will want a trade this summer but it won't leak until June out of respect for the rest of the season

That's a fracture they should be able to see on xrays - so if they're thinking that's what he has, he definitely has it.
Shut him down. Clean house. Start the rebuild.

Fine by me. Time to turn the page on this era.
No guarantee that next era of Pels bball is better than the AD era but it is not exactly a high bar to reach.

The AD era produced a team that, on average, won about 35 games a year. It gave us 5 playoff game wins. No 50 win seasons.
Yes, it can be worse but its not like we are saying goodbye to a bunch of happy memories, hoping we can somehow find a way to replace all this joy we were given

I don’t want to believe you so bad but, I know it’s probably true.

AD wouldn't allow that.
I mean if he needs 4 weeks for what is a glorified sprained finger on his non-shooting hand, maybe he could use the time off. The worst thing would be for him to come back after the break and win a bunch of meaningless games to prove a point after he has already decided he is out.

That wouldn't be the worst thing. First of all, we can't really move that far up, even if we were absolutely horrible. The highest we could get is 7th and even that would take EPIC tanking.
Secondly, imagine AD doesn't play another game this year. Now, the 'injury prone' label comes back and the games played numbers prove it to be true. That could reduce the offers from every bidder.
You want him healthy at the end of the year, even if that gives you the 10th most lotto balls as opposed to 8th. Besides, if you sell at the deadline, play Frank more, etc. you shouldn't win that much anyway. Heck, they didn't win that much when they were TRYING to win

This franchise is no longer trying to win this season?

Oh they are. Which is the issue

People are only hurt when they play for the Pelicans.

Relevant parts of a twitter conversation between some of the BSS guys about if the team would become sellers.

I think they cling to hope with every fiber. It would take a monumental gesture by Davis to get them deviate.
My thoughts.

I have been told by someone I don't trust as much as others that he will tell them over the AS break that he will want to be traded in the summer. Wish he would move that up a few weeks

If you've been told this then they know it too. Safe to say they have more information than we do - hopefully it's used in the decision

The fact that Loomis/Demps are still in charge of this franchise given this impending doom is mind-numbing to me.
