He dropped some random numbers in a thread, then in another thread cryptically hinted that Griffin wasn't done and that he one more addition that could have some small effect on showing AD how committed we are.

The numbers could apply to Trajan Langdon or Raja Bell.

Redden as GM possibly? I remember we were pursuing him a few weeks back, but haven't heard an update in awhile.

Because he’s staying with the Clippers. Got a big raise.

I’m cool with AD staying. Makes it easier IMO just surround AD and Zion with shooters.

Trade AD to the Knicks and demand the #3 pick (RJ Barrett), Mitchell Robinson and 2 additional first round picks 2020 and 2022 giving you assets right now as well as in the future to build the team. New York would also be more inclined to give up 3 first round picks when they aren’t consecutive years. In this scenario you probably trade Holiday too since the rebuild will take 2-3 years. Jrue would fetch you another 1st plus a young quality rotational player. In the end you’re left with building around Zion, RJ Barrett and Robinson with 6 first round picks over the next 3 seasons and plenty of money to spend without Jrue or AD’s contracts.

STOP TRYING TO TRADE THE STAR WE HAVE THAT ACTUALLY WANTS TO BE HERE!!!!

Jrue is going NOWHERE, no matter what happens with AD or what package we take..

We could trade AD to Cleveland for JR Smith and a bag of cookies, and Jrue will still be here

Man if you give us Brogdon and Terrance Ross to start with Holiday, Zion, and AD than we have a championship competitive team.

It’s just not practical to keep Jrue in a full rebuild when you can get very good assets for him and also save a ton of money. I like Jrue as much as the next guy but it’s basic business.

I think so, especially if the NBA levels out the next few years. The Warriors are an aberration. The next title team will be closer to the Rockets, Raptors, Portland, Denver level teams we saw this year.

The trick would be building chemistry, learning each others game and internal improvement from there. But I can see a Duncan/Robinson scenario where they are in the Finals by year 2 if everything breaks right

We are not going into a full rebuild though..

We are re-tooling, much like the Saints did a couple years ago..

Jrue is the PERFECT guy to have mentor Zion, hes the hardest working guy in the league, never takes a play off..

Not to mention, hes probably the only top 20 player that's not on a max deal..

You dont trade him away unless he ASKS you to trade him, and that will not happen

Two weeks ago you put it at 20%, think it's over 50% now just because of the lottery results?

I had it at 25 on Griffin's press conference day, when everyone else had it at 1 percent. 35 percent last week, and yep over 50 percent now.

I think the opt in compromise just makes way too much sense for all parties. That said, people don't always do the logical thing. We will know soon enough. I can wait another week or two.

If AD does decide to opt in, I will enjoy watching Stephen A Smith and Colin Cowherd in misery. Plus reading Lakers fans reactions.

It's so weird. But I was kinda looking forward to the team without him.

That's because when projecting an unknown future, human beings (especially Americans) project a much better outcome than what the data says the average outcome is. Like, much better, according to psychological studies.

All those picks and pieces that make your guys rosters look great on paper, with all this future flexibility -- history says that those pieces will eventually become real players who disappoint you greatly and leave you yearning for the next unknown possibility

I agree but the thought of Zion, AD, and Jrue as a core is nice. Zion is cheap, Jrue signed, and AD to super max gives a nice immediate future, especially to free agents. Some contracts will need to be shed next season but with those guys in place the Pels can make a lot of noise and will be super fun to watch.

Honestly, AD pissed everyone off but I hope he really opts in for one year. I want at least one year to see him and Zion on the court together.

And I agree most of the young players drafted early never fulfill expectations. Only asset I'd really be excited for if we lost AD would be to get Ja somehow....
