I think you previously mentioned that Griffin had at least one more big surprise that he was going to bring to the meeting as well. Any feel on if that is still happening (or did I misunderstand)?

The insinuation to me was someone in the front office.

But we haven't heard anything yet.

Randle likely opts out.

Moore could be moved without bringing in salary.

Option of last resort on Solo is a stretch waive ($4m/season for 3 seasons) IF we have someone lined up.

Another possibility would be swapping him and an asset to Cleveland for JR Smith and waiving him, as he had a partially guaranteed contract and is grandfathered in as capable of being traded at the contract’s face value rather than his actual guaranteed money.

Still would need to come up with a potential FA, though.

Is it a given that randle is gone?

No. But you don't need one. Why would you want some high usage guy to pair with AD and Jrue, minimizing Zion?

Give me Brogdon and Terrance Ross and I am good.

Before we won the lottery, it was likely he was gone.

With Zion? He out. He isn’t going to stick around on a $9m contract getting bench minutes behind AD and Zion.

Stanley working out with them???

Ross is great option but i think his price tag will be too much.

Where does Zion even play? He’s only 6’7” so do you play him at SF or PF? My guess wood be a small power forward.

How will they clear enough space for that? Just don’t see anyone taking Solo contract unless you attach an asset to it

Randle opts out, keep Solo and Moore
Resign Elfrid
Sign Jeremy Lin, Rudy Gay to one year deals

In 2020, only Jrue Zion AD(opt in) on books
Hopefully after a successful year with Griff and Zion with AD we can attract major FA and AD will sign extension

Then, I attach an asset.

The great thing about the situation is you can go after a free agent or free agents and then if they say yes, you find ways to dump. If not, you don't have to

I target the guys I want, see if I can get them and then I have some possible dumps set up if I get lucky and the FA chooses me at the price I offer. If not, I stay patient and find lesser guys on short deals and I am on the lookout for high value trades in season

Is it something that's done deal enough to bring it up in the meeting with AD?

It could be. One more domino has to fall. That deal (that has nothing to do with the Pels) can happen today or it can take two weeks. Thats what is holding everything up.

That said, it won't influence AD 1/10th as much as landing the #1 pick could. Its more of an example of the commitment from ownership than the actual person being this mind blowing addition
