well sure
if Hayes (and NAW) had turned into players we’d be calling him a genius. At minimum the trade rid us of hill which was not insignificant and netted the 2nd used on herb. Hunter is dollar store herb as it turned out. On balance I’d rather have herb than hunter, but garland would have been a difference maker.

still, you never ever trade down from the top 5 in the NBA draft, ever. It’s not the value move

Supposedly AD is dealing with mental health issues.
Sources close to the situation claim it is his Charminitis flaring back up again.

It ain’t getting much better from here.

I see 5 more losses before their next winnable ones against the Clip Show and Kings. Before that, they have Denver, us, Utah twice, and Cleveland.

That takes them into a stretch with games against other struggling teams like Brooklyn as well as the inexplicably successful Spurs.

How big is this sample size? Teams don't trade out of the top 5 all that often.

I mean, there’s a reason why…

Now is the absolute perfect time to be selecting top 5. We don’t need more big contract players and older players. We don’t have to blow up the roster to get off bad contracts. So super talented relatively cheap contracts are perfect for our team. Trade them later if we must. Taking future picks is not good because there is no future pick that is going to necessarily be a future guaranteed top 5 pick.

If we had later first then maybe you trade out to gather more later first round pick or turn a late first into a potential future lottery pick. A super high first round pick needs to be used (top 5 or top 10).

We traded down and got Murphy..

yes. I wanted Murphy for pels when pels still had 10th.. just lucky other gms had other priorities and valuation than I.

the trade down from 4 to 8 and whatever 17 not so much eh?

and we all note it wasn't a pure down pick move. it was JV for Adams.
I heartily approve nuance like swap picks to balance players.

Ham says the Lakers will go back to AD at the 5, with LeBron, Pat Bev, Lonnie and Troy Brown Jr. rounding out the starters.

Impressive turnaround by the Zombie Staples Center crew to have the court ready for a Lakers game a few hours after a Clippers game.

The fact that Troy Brown is a starter for LA is hilarious. He would be 11th/12th man on the Pels.

It's the "Crypto.com Arena" now. The name is a perfect reflection of the collapse of those two teams this year.
