You literally came into our Laker thread last year mocking the idea that the Lakers could possibly give us a top-ten pick.
I'm honestly glad that you're back trolling again this year. Wembayana?.... I really need to start practicing spelling that guy's name.

Realistically the Lakers with Lebron AD and Westbrook will be a decent team.. the only way they won't is if those three struggle with injuries again
That seems like a safe bet but, hell, even Zion played 60 games once

Lebron doesn’t play defense, AD is always hurt, and Westbrick takes 1000 bank shots a game and makes 12. Im sorry but the lakers are going to suck next year unless a massive trade happens. There’s no depth to relieve the old men.

I just call him Wematanye at this point.
“I see a lottery pick, Wematanye!”

That team has no depth. The only chance at success is moving off of Westbrook, and that may take the last of the draft picks years from now. If Nets actually give up kyrie for Westbrook then I’d have more faith in the team, but the reality is the bench is atrocious. Lebron will give up during multiple games when he realizes his team sucks.

here is one way the lakers could move rustle for Irving that doesn’t depend on another team having cap space
if they won’t take Hayward then they will 100% have to fork over a 27 or 29 1st or both to either the nets or the Spurs. The nets don’t HAVE to trade Irving right now

The Charlotte Hornets would like to get out of Gordon Hayward's hefty salary, but the Lakers don't have a massive appetite for a player with a significant injury history. But if a trade doesn't cost Los Angeles any draft compensation, it could be through Charlotte if the team is also willing to give up Terry Rozier. That's also assuming the Nets would do Irving for Rozier, who is owed $96.3 million over the next four seasons (most of which is guaranteed). If so, Brooklyn would also add a $15.4 million trade exception. The penalty for the Lakers is taking on Hayward's $61.6 million over the next two seasons, along with Irving. Los Angeles would need to include Horton-Tucker or a package of Nunn and one additional player (Wenyen Gabriel or a free agent via sign-and-trade to Charlotte). The Nets could take on Horton-Tucker or Nunn if that holds any appeal.

Isn't Rozier considered negative value with his contract? The Nets are the one with the best player in the deal and they eat the longest bad contract? That doesn't add up.

there aren’t a whole lot of other options for either the nets or the lakers. Spurs could be the third team but they’ll want picks. Nobody else has space
who else is trading for Irving? Who else has space for Westbrook? Are the lakers really going to burn 27/29 pick(s) for Irving? And extend him?

What positive asset are the Nets getting in this case though? THT and Nunn? They might as well just ride it out with crazy and see what they can get for him at the deadline.
I'm not saying this as a Pels fan that doesn't want Kyrie going to the Lakers, I looking at this from the Nets perspective and it feels like they are doing the Lakers a favor when they are the one with the in demand asset.

I 100% agree. Houston held on to fat James Harden into the season and it worked out great for them.
If I’m not getting the deals I want I hold on to both into the season. Tell them both to suit up.
Once teams get a glimpse of their roster playing and say “yuck” the deals could look a lot better.

The way everyone talks in here sounds like Bron is past his prime, AD doesn’t know what a uniform looks like, and Westbrook is sad

I said months ago, if no one will take Westbrook they should cut and stretch him. That would have given them an extra 30M+ to fill out the roster and would have kept them out of the tax (no repeater). It still wouldn't be a good team. But they could have kept it afloat until they can flip Davis and extend James to a lesser deal. Plus they would have had the ability to buy a pick or two and find some nice young pieces to develop this year..

Stretching Westbrook still leaves them over the cap so they can only use exceptions to sign guys

Like I heard on the radio today, the lakers are way more desperate to trade for Irving than the Nets are to trade him right now.

Not only that, but unlike the Spurs who are tanking, the Nets have to give all of their picks to the Rockets the next few years.
Absolutely no reason at all to tear it down. No incentive. If I’m the GM, I want players that can play. Not Westbrick. The picks 5-7 years from now won’t help the team the next 3-4 years when the Rox are getting the Nets lotto picks b/c of a bad trade.
