Yeah, but Lowe's whole reasoning/questioning was that they only reason we are trying to get CJ is to lock in the 10th seed. While that is possibly, partly true I think that's a bit lazy.
I mean, we don't need to do anything to make the #10 seed. I don't know why anyone would think that we make any trade with that as the goal.

Yeah I don’t get CJ. He’s still a good player but on the way downhill and 2 more years at $35 million. If the Blazers want to dump him for cap flexibility I get it, but attaching legit assets for him is a dangerous game. He could have a huge vet impact on this team, or he could have a couple of injuries and put us through cap hell during Zion and BI prime years

Yeah at this point we just need to stay healthy. Unless Dame comes back and ignites the Blazers I think we’re already the favorites for that slot.
A trade(s) now should be able getting better for the next few years. It’s always easier to do business at the deadline rather than the offseason, so they should be exploring every opportunity.

Look at their stats this year.
Powell is an immensely better and more versatile defender.

CJ is a much better facilitator than Powell. If we are looking for a lead guard CJ would fit that role much better than Powell would.

Powell isn’t a 1. We need a 1.
What kind of real sample size do we have of CJ running the show? This year in Portland after Dame's injury?

If we pay a premium to get CJ to be a facilitator we're likely fricking our future. We will be paying for a premium player and he's simply not....not even close.

Board Favorite Jake Madison posting on the twitters its gonna be a long night

Agreed, IF we pay a premium. Powell was let go for pretty cheap so maybe we will get lucky.
Wait nvm Griff is out GM

Seems a little late for something to go down….
Maybe he knows a trade is on the table, but there are a lot of moving parts. Could be something in the morning for CJ, or we balk and go in a different direction.

I don't think we can even match his salary without paying too much (Hart or Jax)
Posted on 2/7/22 at 9:26 pm to SlowFlowPro
CJ McCollum has averaged 25.7 points, 5.6 assists and 4.7 rebounds in 49 games without Damian Lillard in his career.
That's pretty good...

Take it with a huge grain of salt but that Landon Buford guy just tweeted this about 20 minutes ago...
If that is the deal..

Pelicans last offer to Blazers was: Satoransky, Hart, Hayes, Murphy, 2022 Lakers FRP, 2023 Pelicans FRP for C.J. McCollum, Per NBA Source. Blazers want more assets but didn’t specify who.
If that is the deal..

I’ll stop following the team if they do that

He's on the wrong side of 30 and can't even shoot FTs anymore...and he's terrible at defense.
If we could orchestrate a straight salary dump for POR, then fine, but I imagine we will have to give up premium value, which is gross.

Yeah I also heard Luka Doncic is going to the SuperSonics
Posted on 2/7/22 at 9:31 pm to BallHawk
Definitely not the offer because the Lakers pick is already traded and we cannot trade the 2023 pick
Posted on 2/7/22 at 9:33 pm to BallHawk
Yeah and I replied to that guy that its cap.
Pelicans would need to be relocated if we did that deal.
