I get the feeling that a bunch of you guys will be disappointed and angry once that deadline hits.

Agreed. Gave up assets to create cap space for nothing. But I’ll admit if I’m wrong

I don't follow college hoops or scouting so I don't really have any super opinionated takes at draft time.

Definitely was melting this past offseason though, it was a shite show.

As it has been since Griffin has been in charge. I will be pissed if after next offseason, we let the huge TPE expire.

Utah Jazz F Joe Ingles will have an MRI on his left knee in Salt Lake City on Monday, source tells ESPN. He needed help leaving court after knee buckled vs. Minnesota.

There's fear the Jazz's Joe Ingles has suffered a significant left knee injury, but nothing will be confirmed until his MRI in Salt Lake City on Monday, sources tell ESPN.

If you took Ingles into the exception the Jazz would save about $4-$5 in salary plus another $4-$5 million in taxes. Would saving $8-$10 million be worth a 1st to them? Probably not, I haven't heard much rumbling about the Jazz looking to save money.

Jake Madison's show today is: "Why CJ McCollum is a Move That the Pelicans Need to Make."

Jake said that he thought the price would be: Hart + one of Jaxson/NAW + two 1sts (he didn't elaborate on possible protections). He's for such a deal (obviously, salary filler like Sato has to be included as well).

Obviously, we are expecting Zion to return to play fairly soon. The momentum on the McCollum story doesn't happen without that expectation.

That's interesting because Pincus is more of a cap guy and LA beat guy not really a rumor monger that I've seen. If he's talking about it there must be a lot of smoke.

I stand by my remark in the Zion news thread.

If hes coming back post All Star you do the trade and go all in

I mean yeah, we do this every year.

The NBA Trade Deadline is generally pretty overrated with some notable exceptions, and most teams won't do much.

The odds are not much happens. But maybe it does

Would prefer the trade in the offseason for a number of reasons, but as long as the price is fair, if it happens at the deadline so be it.

McCollum makes a lot of sense and compliments our guys well.

Allows Herb to stay in the starting lineup and move Graham to his ideal role of 6th man.

McCollum, Herb, BI , Zion, Val w/ Graham as sixth man is a solid rotation. Still, will need guys like Trey and Kira to develop in order to give us the needed depth over an 82 game season.

So if you count NAW and Jaxson as lottery picks, we would be giving up 4 first round picks for CJ? Holy Overpay

I think people might be less disappointed if they look at where this team is actually at. We're 13 games under .500. Thirteen. LOL.

We'd rightfully get crushed for trading away any of our future for an undersized 30 year old guard, making 30+ million dollars, when we're 18-31. What exactly are we chasing?

We don't even get mentioned by any major outlets, because it never occurs to them that an 18-31 team would be looking to add a 30 year old making 30 million dollars.

Lots of disingenuous arguments going around Pelicans social media, basically implying some people are too dumb to understand how CJ could help the team. The reality is, the argument against trading for him is more complex than whether or not he'd fit well with Zion and BI.

No, Nickeil was taken 17th in the 2019 draft. He wasn't a lottery pick.

Do you think we could trade Jaxson or NAW to someone out there and get back a lottery pick?

The answer is hell no. You'd be lucky to get a lottery protected pick for Jaxson, and no one is giving a first for NAW.

So no, just b/c they were drafted in the lottery, doesn't equate to them being traded away as equal to a lottery pick.

Josh Hart can opt out of his contract this offseason.

I do not think that is the case.

I think the Pels have the option for this season.

Hart has it next season. I could be wrong but that is what I vaguely remember.
