I've always been a fan but recently got into them hot and heavy. I have Moving Pictures and 2112.

Which other ones should I check out?

Permanent Waves. Worth it just for The Spirit of Radio alone.

Definitely Exit ...Stage Left. Its a great mix of deep track and radio track Rush, and it sounds perfect. You can hear the attack of the sticks on drumheads, and Geddy's bass strings.

This is one of those questions that could change daily. I go through periods where I prefer the 80's over the 70's or even their latest. An interview asked Geddy about his favorite album and he mentioned Clockwork Angels. He said that was their most confident album. I agree and it's a great album to close the book on Rush so to speak. It hits every sound they had from early to their latest.

1. Rush 1st album will always be No. 1 for me even with no Neil. Others could change out any day.
2. Hemipsheres
3. Hold Your Fire
4. Caress of Steel
5. Presto

1. Moving Pictures
2. 2112
3. AFTK
4. Permanent Waves
5. Presto (not the most robust sound mix but great songs)

Clockwork Angels is a concept album full of great stuff, especially for an album at the end of their career. Counterparts is also a very good album from the 90's.
All of their live albums are great too with a little different sound on each one.

Everybody is gonna mention 2112, Permanent Waves and Hemispheres. Moving Pictures, too, and it's probably my favorite, and rightfully so. Counterparts is underrated. I probably play it as much as any other Rush album.

I bought Caress of Steel when it first came out and none of my buddies had any idea who Rush was! Still love that album and bring back may memories. They where so different at the time as compared to what everyone else was into!
