SAP held a conference in Disney this week and they shut down the Magic Kingdom last night at 5:30 for a private closing event headlined by DMB playing a shortened set for a little over an hour.

Now, I've been a fan since college but I get how they're not everyone's cup of tea. I watched a live stream last night and it was a pretty cool setting with the castle as the backdrop and all that but it was just such an odd pairing. Dave stood on stage and sang some pretty "un-Disney" lyrics.

I've been wondering what it must cost to pull something like this off. Supposedly the ticket cost for this conference was well over $2k which seems high until you factor in you got park access and events for 3 days plus a private DMB concert. But man, Dave has been so anti-corporate his whole career it seems like such a sellout move. It's making me wonder who really owns the band?

IDK, the whole thing was just weird.

I've always liked DMB. I didn't realize they had so many haters until a few years ago. And the haters seem to be louder and more dedicated than the fans.

a lot... I'd bet DMB was 500k and don't know what Disney charges for those type of events.

I've been to a couple at both Disney and Universal for conferences, but they've always been like 8pm-11pm, not shutting down the park at 530. I'd imagine thats a cool 250k+

he is 59. Probably wants a new boat or something.

Gone are the days of the 90s where selling out meant something.

lol! Doesn’t nearly every festival and arena have corporate names all over the place?

The band in the 90s/early 2000s was objectively better than the current band.

Also Dave hasn't really grown as an artist. Last saw him at the Wharf about 10 years ago and he sucked penis.

2003-2006 was the best live shows they did.
