Includes 6 nights in 98,000 seat Wembley. Unbelievable.

IMO, it's not that hard to connect the dots and realize how HUGE Swift is right now. Gen Z kids (currently 11-26 yrs old) grew up with iphones and tablets to entertain themselves. Their whole life has been surrounded by social media - youtube, FB, Instagram, etc. Music was either downloaded or shared amongst friends via the inet and digital streaming services. Swift was well aware of this and used these platforms to share her music, and market her public image and likeness to her fans & teenage girls.

Swift released her first album in 2006 and has won a boatload of awards. Her music has been streamed 78 BILLION times. She's partnered with dozens of businesses to market herself and and rep the company ... clothing, makeup, perfume, Walmart, Capitol One. Politically, she's a liberal, Pro-Choice, feminist, gun control reform, and LGBT supporter. Pretty much what the majority of teenage girls and women in their 20's are today.

Compound all the above with the fact that she hasn't toured since 2018 (5 years) while releasing 4 albums in the same time frame. HUGE demand with a limited supply of stadium/arena seats. Face value ticket prices range from $100 to $400. With not enough tickets to go around, Swift fans are paying insane prices ($2500+) on the secondary market.

She definitely knows how to market her target audience. Extremely talented and writes all of her own music. Her current tour concerts last 3.5 hrs and she performs 45 songs, changing attire throughout the show. I'm not a fan of her music because her music doesn't appease to me - I grew up listening to Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, The Who, Lynard Skynyrd, Allman Bros. I respect her as a musician - entertainer and can easily see why she is followed by many fans and followers today. Her popularity is on par with Elvis, Madonna, and Michael Jackson when they were at their peak.

Taylor is on the Mt Rushmore of pop artists and the Eras tour completely crystallizes her capabilities and success in all areas of being a SUCCESSFUL artist.

Thick necks will hate because that is what they do. In the mean time, I'll enjoy the connection with my daughters through Taylor's music.

Yeah, and Paramore is the opening act. No one will be able to afford tickets for this one

Really like the way you call her out by her first name like you know her personally. I liked the Monkees growing up. My parents felt no obligation to connect with me over it. Just don’t get how grown men get so obsessed with music aimed at and written for their daughter. Mine liked Hillary Duff but I never listened to her or promoted her music on a message board. TS is really not worthy of discussion on this board.

Grown men aren’t the ones obsessed with Taylor Swift’s music

It’s a MUSIC board. People are going to discuss big names in MUSIC occasionally. Taylor Swift has been one of the biggest stars since her debut in 2006. I’m sorry she can’t possibly live up to the paragon of genius that is The Monkees (keep on Monkin’ around). She’s going to get mentioned now and again.

Me neither. Think Shake It Off is the only T Swift song I have heard …. But different strokes, different folks. I’ll just keep listening to metal.

It's a music board to discuss music. She's a musical artist.

I don't understand you old farts. No one is forcing you to listen to her music, and no one is forcing you to post in threads about her.

Even if you don't know it, you've probably also heard:
"Out of Style"
"Bad Blood"
"Our Song"
"Love Story"
"Blank Space"
"Feeling 22"
"We Are Never Getting Back Together"

I don't seek out her music or listen to pop radio, but I hang out at bars where karaoke is sung, I attend sporting events, I see advertisements on tv. Taylor Swift's music is everywhere and difficult to avoid even if you don't want to hear it. This is because she is one of the most successful and sought after artists of the last 20 years.

Do I listen to Taylor Swift in my car or when I'm at home? Absolutely not.

Do I recognize her songs when they're played in the grocery store or in Tiger Stadium? Yes

Would I pay thousands of dollars to see her perform live? Absolutely not

Do I understand why she has a large and affluent enough fan base to command those sorts of prices? Also yes.

my daughters are fans of Swifts. My 10 yr old loves her songs and has only gotten into her the last couple of years.
I told her that Swift started out in country and she wouldn't believe me. So I found an early song of hers and she yelled for me to turn it off. She hates country music.

RIP to all the non Taylor Swift Paramore fans because they’re not going to be able to afford it especially to see what’ll be like a one hour show

Good thing for Paramore though is they’re about to blow up again with all the non Emo Zoomers which will think has already happened. Saw Paramore at Bonnaroo and they started the opening to Misery Business and the girl in front of me said she never heard that song before.

My wife really wanted to go to the redemption tour in '18, so I bought tickets and went with her. I was very impressed with Swift's ability to perform in a stadium venue then. The wife and I had a great time.

I don't seek out her music but my wife has it on pretty consistently so I've gained familiarity with the songs.

We landed tickets for the Eras tour and went to the show in April. It was even more impressive this time around. She is a very good performer, the energy from her crowd is insane. It's a damn 3.5 hour set and you really don't want to leave your seat. If you have the opportunity to see her show you should really try to make. If you have an appreciation for big time performers you would enjoy it even if you're not a fan of her music.

I wouldn't know it if I did hear those songs, so not going to say I've definitely never heard them, but I'm reasonably confident they have never played obi ay of the radio stations or streaming playlists I typically listen to,

Wife and I are going to Kansas City tomorrow for the concert. Got tickets for both nights.

I very much enjoy 1989 album (the Ryan adams cover album was also great), the rest of her music is hit or miss.

As much as people go crazy over her, I think she is a great performer and looking forward to this 3.5 hour concert

That’s insane that she’s able to consistently pull that off. Only time I’ve been to a concert that ran over three hours was for Green Day, My Morning Jacket, and Highly Suspect

Maybe Hailey Williams can help Swift out with her vocals.

Swift’s vocals are just fine. She doesn’t write songs she can’t sing. She sticks to her range (limited but there). Taylor could never sing some of the songs Kelly Clarkson or Pink sing but she doesn’t try to.
