GTFO with this stupid shite. Diamond Dave was way better than Sammy Hag.
Dave Navarro, are you freaking kidding me? Dave Navarro and his fruity painted fingernails isn't worthy of licking John Frusciante's sweaty, post-concert jockstrap.

One of my most controversial opinions is this - the Eagles actually sound better with Vince Gill.
And oddly enough - I was at the Eagles show a few years ago at Dodger Stadium. I think it was just their second show without Glenn Frey. Deacon was with the band too.
Steely Dan was one of the opening acts, and Walter Becker had just gotten ill and couldn't make the show. He passed soon after.

Didn’t they have more hits with Fagan leading vocals?
Fagan was the vocalist, Becker did a lot of the writing, similar to Richards/Jagger

I saw INXS without Michael, and it was basically the greatest INXS cover band at that point.

I'd pay to see Wings without their old frontman.
I don't even remember his name, he held them back, imho.

Off the top of my head, AC/DC is the only band that replaced a key member and came out ahead.

I thought Vince Gill took Freys place.
Yeah, they were both brought in. Vince is still with the band.

The Doobie Brothers when Michael McDonald was the singer had a different sound but they were still good.

The 'New - Old' Lynyrd Skynyrd sounds pretty legit.

Steely Dan’s Walter Becker may have been a talented song writer, and composer but he brought absolutely nothing to their live performances. He was a mediocre guitarist, apparently he couldn’t be bothered to learn any of the great guitar parts to their songs, the stuff created by Larry Carlton, Elliot Randall, and many others. His on stage”stoner” rants were a waste of the audience’s time.

Mick Jones doesn’t even have to contractually perform at every gig. On those nights, Foreigner literally is a cover band.
Since it’s inception Foreigner has had 70 different members with and without Mick Jones.

2022 Steely Dan can easily plug in another guitar player and sound great. and I love Walter Becker. Also, their tickets really aren't that expensive.

Steely Dan is one of those bands that would almost be impossible to recreate live without a large band. They were geniuses in the studio.

Jeezuz, I'll put my net worth up against yours any day of the week. You are obviously dumb enough to pay premium prices for half-arse entertainment so you can;t be very wealthy.

Journey can still throw down. Neal still rips his Strat with album precision. Arnel sounds great and is a great stage performer. They also have Castronovo on drums and Cain on guitar. Randy Jackson plays bass on occasion as well. They're a darn fine show and worth every cent of a ticket.

You could argue that their involvement with that massive prick David Foster turned them into a smarmy pop band.
There's a doc in Netflix about David Foster, actually it's pretty good. After Kath's death, Chicago was going downhill in regards to record sales. They had 2 albums in the early 80's that flopped back to back. Their record label dropped them. Their careers started to dim until Foster signed them to Warner Bros and then he was hired to manage and produce them. It was Foster's idea to give a band a facelift and gradually dump the brass sounds. They came up with Chicago 16 & 17 which were pretty good IMO. Then Cetera left and the band became cheesy as hell.
So in reality they were a great rock band and became a cheesy pop band only for financial reasons and to build a longer legacy.
