I’ve been a subscriber for years using it only in vehicles. I just downloaded the app. From what I understand it has more channels? Anything else I should know?

Underground Garage (SiriusXM 21)
Greatest radio station in the history of the world or anywhere else. Plays everything from 50s rockabilly and 60s garage nuggets through 70s punk/new wave to current bands.

A satellite radio station created and supervised by Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt to present rock 'n' roll and garage rock on radio. It plays a mixture of garage rock both old and new, and the music which influenced today's garage rock.
quote:
The radio channel is programmed and run by Van Zandt. The programs are hosted by a team of personalities personally selected by Van Zandt. On-air hosts on the channel include original Rolling Stones manager/producer Andrew Loog Oldham, punk rock singer Handsome Dick Manitoba, The Mighty Manfred (lead singer of The Woggles), veteran FM radio deejays Kid Leo and Bill Kelly, rock entrepreneur Kim Fowley and musician/producer Genya Ravan (originally the singer in Goldie & the Gingerbreads). A version of the popular Breakfast with the Beatles program, hosted by Chris Carter, appears on the channel each Sunday.

Musical philosophy
The music format of the 24/7 satellite radio channel is based on Van Zandt's musical philosophy and approach to rock 'n' roll. Van Zandt believes that rock 'n' roll is a continuum from the early 1950s onwards and that it is artificial and counter-productive to segregate music by the decade it was created. So the Underground Garage presents music from every decade since the beginnings of rock 'n' roll in the early 1950s to the present day.
Stylistically, the format's offerings span such genres and categories as garage rock, girl groups, British Invasion, psychedelic music, rockabilly, surf rock, and punk rock. The music is fully integrated so that listeners hear recordings by rock pioneers such as Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Little Richard and Elvis Presley juxtaposed with records by present-day garage bands like The Contrast - and multiple artists from the four decades between.
Van Zandt has stated that he hopes to draw younger listeners (who are attracted because of the current artists) to hear the historic acts that paved the way for today's rock. And older listeners (who are attracted because of the vintage artists) to hear the artists who are carrying on the tradition.

Marco turned me on to Little Steven's Underground Garage pre-covid. Stored as one of my favorites with awesome music history and education.
back in 2001, my boss gave everyone a portable Sirius sat radio for Christmas. I signed up for the lifetime subscription ($300) and best investment I made. I travel for business and can listen to all channels anywhere, even when on vacation.

Underground Garage is a normal channel not specific to the app.

There's some good ones between channels 309 and 315.

I use the app more than the car service, find the genres you like and add to favourites. I use it alot to listen to sports, nice to listen to home town announcers eg Lsu.

They have over 100 app only channels
They are great for parties. I put the 4th of July or summer pool station on for pool parties.

Yeah the app is great. You’ll find a ton of gems. I like how they have channels that combine two regular channels
80s/90s mix, etc

If I listened to Lithium for example, there’s four other Lithium streaming channels I can listen to uninterrupted without commentary. Icons, Top 100, deep cuts, etc.
The streaming channels have become better than the main channels. I don’t want to hear Tom Morello hosting a show playing random songs he wrote or any no one has ever heard of.

I immediately change the station when him and his mom come on the air.

Classic Rock Party is a crowd pleaser. No interruptions. Just music.
Y’allternative is another good streamer. Where country meets Indy rock.
You can also use search to find past shows, like Shooter Jennings’ Electric Rodeo, and listen when you want.

The best feature is to make a favorites page. You do this by clicking the star at the top of the channel.
Then you can bring up your favorites page and it will show you the song playing on each station. When you click on that station it starts at the beginning of that song.
If you click favorite and then search and then favorite again everything refreshes.
Very cool feature. I am in dialysis 5 hours on MWF, so it is my only true saving grace.

Pretty much all the channels have "Deep Cuts" & other side channels without the DJs talking.
