They may as well add on a residency at the Sphere. They'd kill it and probably sell out for as long as they'd want to stay there.

Saw some of the first show. Pretty good. Geddy voice better than I thought, but still struggling a lot when he gets to a certain high note level. First batch of shows would be the time to see them. That voice will get worse.

New girl drummer is good. She of course sounds different on some stuff. Nothing against her, I just selfishly want Neil and no one else.

I guess the keyboard guy is fine. Nobody really cares about him.

Related to vocals, all the songs are really downtuned at least 1/2 to 1 1/2 steps down. I just don't like that at all with some songs. I know, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Aimee Mann live for Time Stand Still. OMG! Now, if you told me that was going to happen, yes, I would probably go to the show. Wondered why they had never done this before. Very cool.

Hope everyone has fun at the shows that is going.

They are really honing in on early-mid RUSH with that list.

Refreshing.

Not only is Anika Nilles technically incredible, but Rush is embarking on a ambitiously vast amount of material spanning decades. This isn't a band that's touring with the same 10 songs every evening, and she's had to learn the entire library.

Did you see the Beato-Geddy interview? Geddy said late in rehearsals they told her they wanted to add another song. She pointed at her head and screamed at them, “MY HARD DRIVE IS FULL!”

I think Neil would be stoked to see Anika driving this band as hard as he did.

I'm sure if you searched you could find a post where I wasn't for this when it first came out but she's locked in and sounds amazing.

She’s rock fricking solid. I grew up listening to Rush. I reversed the speaker wires to hear the drums from the Neil Peart’s perspective.

I’ve watched many videos from the first show. Aside from Getty Lee’s old voice, they were powerful. Anika drove the bus on that stage.

I wonder if she can write lyrics

She is amazing!

Very few folks (if blind folded) would have been able to tell the difference between her and NP.

She played with power and nailed the signature fills and licks we’ve all come to love.

Well, this thread was the proverbial last straw and I finally broke down and bought a RUSH ticket for Charlotte. Two things. First, the setlist is really cool. Two, I figured I would probably be considered a bad Canadian if I didn't go support them.

I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet but I'm considering the same. I'm only a little over 2 hours from Charlotte and I'm very tempted to see this show, I've been a fan of Rush since I was in high school. I have seen them once back in the 80s, I wouldn't mind one more time

I've been a Rush fan for 40+ years with having the privilege of of seeing them on the Moving Pictures tour and I have to say Anika nailed it. I never thought we would get another Rush tour. I hope I can make it to one of the shows

I am a lower level Rush fan compared to others I know, but find myself intrigued by the come back effort, addition of Anika Niles, etc. She is tremendous and does the Neil legacy proud.

Her playing overall was great, but on La Villa Stangiato was incredible. To learn what she has had to learn in a relatively short time and to play at this level - phenomenal.

She's obviously talented, but I dunno, the changes she made to Tom Sawyer feel like sacrilege.

Even Neil Peart said Tom Sawyer was complicated. She did fine...As the songs says:

quote:

Always hopeful, yet discontent
He knows changes aren't permanent
But change is
